Just wondering how long it may take to increase my supple a little bit for an older baby (10 months). Basically I'm just trying to build my freezer stash because we are going to be apart more often. He's still nursing fairly frequently and when I pump there doesn't seem to be much...its only been a couple days so I'm hoping after a week or so I'll be able to get a little more...maybe 1/2 ounce total from both sides combined right now. the pump suction just seems so weak now compared to him! We are just really in sync at this point I think which is kinda awesome! I don't need a huge stash because he does get some solids but when he wakes at night the only thing that settles him is some mama milk so i need a supply for our sitters. Thanks!

What kind of pump do you have?
If your pump suction is weak maybe thats the reason you aren't able to get much. Try checking your pump parts and replce them if needed. Maybe that should work.

If you keep pumping consistently within 2-4 days you should see a difference. Are you pumping in between feedings or after?

I have a medela pump in style. maybe something is wrong with it, the suction used to feel stronger but it's been so long since i pumped regularly i just figured it was different now. i'm usually pumping after feedings because he's napping and it's the best time...otherwise i'm baby wrangling!

My guess is pump parts... check tubing membranes and valves. Chances are that they need replacing. For what I've heard 1/2 oz isn't bad output to pump after feedings. You can try some herbal supplements. I have used Mother's Milk Tea by Traditional Medicinals and seen a difference in one day (it contains fenugreek). I'm pretty sure that should work. Like I said before if you keep pumping consistently within 2-4 days you should see a difference.
