It might take time for dh and I to agree.
We will not find out the sex of the baby until the birth. I already have a girl name that I really want to use. But I need boy names now.
The middle name would be Andrew (my great-grandfather). I like classic names, but I also like interesting names (but not weird, like Moonunit or Dweezil!)
Any suggestions?

My cousinn just had a baby boy and his name is Owen Andrew.

Didn't I suggest Owen the other day? Great minds Katie Lou.
Roo, tell them the truth about your whacky requirements for names...

NO no no! They don't need to know how neurotic I really am.
(How did I know you would mention it on this thread? ;) )

Besides, I want all the suggestions they have, and I can pick from those. :)

Roo has a lot of.... err... unique rules about baby names. It's her insanity though. She has to share it. rofl.

I'm glad I had a girl because I couldn't come up with a boy name DH and I could agree on. One I liked was Griffin.

Here's our list that I suggested to DH, though DH vetoed all but 5 names on this list. We're fairly classic. (But have a lot of rules like no hard "C"/"K" names, two syllables, easy to spell and say, doesn't end in "er," I don't like most nicknames so that limits it too).
Jason
Brian
Dennis
Adam
Jared
Joel
Brandon
Owen
Ryan
Justin
Evan
Gavin
Lucas
Austin
Dalton
Aaron
Simon
Jeffrey

The names I'd consider if I were pregnant with a son right now...hmmmm
Daniel
Jeffrey
Dennis
Charles
William
Colin
Harald
Declan
Henry
Edmund
Arthur
James (but not Jimmy!)

I had a lot of rules when naming my children. Nothing made-up sounding, nothing with a uneek spelling, no names that could be shortened to nicknames I hates (like Jimmy despite loving the name James).
ETA: it had to be an older name, too. I didn't want anything brand new, like Taylor or other such names.

I've got some rules for names as well. All of my kids are named after some one, but not using their names. DD1 is named after my mom and my granny. Lilith Rose. My mom's name is Lillie, and my granny's favorite flower was roses.
I like the names:
Mead
Wulff
Give me some rules!

Tamryn for a boy really seems like teasing fodder to me. I'd never do it.

I love the name Declan! Of course I already have a Jalen and a Colton so it might be too close. Maybe a middle name.

Tamryn just sounds confused to me. I agree with TW that it seems like teasing fodder. I hate names that sound as if they aren't sure what they are supposed to be.

I had a weird name.
I was bullied, beat up, teased, left out, had a horrid horrid time in school.
Not once-ever-did anyone ever use my name to tease me. Honestly, kids are going to tease weather or not there name is plain jane or moonflower sundaisy. They will just find other things to tease about. Too short, too fat, too skinny, too tall, too white, too brown, too loud, too shy, too smart, too stupid. If you love the name... go for it.

Within reason though please! I have cousins named Sterling and Baron - no problems there. I went to school with a boy named Ildo - rhymes with Dildo. There's a line between a little weird and names that you shouldn't be allowed to give kids!

I am into Connor, Harrison, Shane, Ronan,
What about MacKenzie?
I used to sit for a Connor MacKenzie we called him Connor Mac.
My family name is a McC name, we will use Hayden Andrew McC -S and call him Hayden Mac. Mac for short for my grandfather. This has been my plan since I was little. None of my cousins have used Mac or Hayden.

Ian MacKenzie has a definite ring to it. Or Malcom Mackenzie
Of course their is always Fraser but that TV Character sort of comes to mind a bit too much.

Boy names I like:
Ethan
Owen
Braedon
Cayden
Christopher
Deacon
James (another "no jimmy!" here)

Top names we liked this time -- Leo, William, and James. But we outlawed all "S" names because our son's name starts with S. I like Samuel a lot.
Also, no "P" names because of our last name. There are a lot of great "P" names...

Okay, if you refuse to go with Luke...back me up Paw, don't you think Luke would be awesome?
Anyway, if not Luke, then I say James. We can call him Jamie. You have red hair and both your boys are quite tall. It's only right. What if he's tall and fiery haired and you didn't name him Jamie? I mean, could you really live with yourself?

My former pastor's name was Richard Long. He went by Dick. No I am not joking.
I had a friend in high school whose last name was Fagg. Her first name is Megan. When our chorus went on a trip to NYC, her name showed up on her ticket as Mega Fagg. Some of the very immature boys in the chorus had a field day with that typo, but she just rolled her eyes at them and her friends stood up for her. She was my roommate when our chorus went to Europe. I wonder how she is now.

my last name brings up quite a chuckle, let;s just say Richard was NOT an option for us, or William.

If we picked Ian, it would be Ian Andrew. Andrew is set. James Andrew is just a bit too formal for my tastes.
The other name we like is Jacob. (Jamie's grandfather was Red Jacob, does that count?)
