all day today since his 8am feeding i've had to supplement him... he's not seeming satisfied by the boobies at all today.. totally bumming me out.. really hoping it just has to do with the mastitis.. i'm not giving up.. if anything it's making me feel a little more motivated... but bumming me out because not only he not getting satisfied...but when i'm pumping my already little amount is more little... GRRRRRR

When are you pumping? Is it right after he eats?

most of the time i pump right after he eats or should i say within a half hour from when he finished eating... but if he takes a long nap i'll pump when he's sleeping.. like right now.. gonna go do that..

If you pump right after he eats then you won't get very much. If you are getting 1/2 oz total or less then that is normal more than 1/2 oz total and you may have over production problems.

If you are pumping soon after he eats, you might not get anything because he is eating it all whereas before you had extra milk to pump out. You may not see the increase as you start to get your supply back up because the work you are doing he is eating it before you get to pump. I would pump for 10 minutes after each bfing session and then extra right before bed and when you get up in the morning. I don't know if this will help or not, good work on what you have done already though!!!!

ahh to wake up and be able to pump in the morning.. i'm so tired from overnight feedings that i can barely wake up when he cries or the older kid comes in.. i've been saying almost every night that i want to either get up in the middle of the night and pump or wake up before the baby and pump.. but so far neither has happened... as of right now it's been taking me 2 days... and about 6 pumping sessions to get 2 oz... right now i have6oz in the freezer, (3 sets of 2oz) and i'm about 1-2 pumpings away from another 2oz that's in the fridge.. this growth spurt is really frustrating. don't know if i'm gaining anymore milk or not because he still seems hungry after most of the feedings... overnights have been good.. he's content with just falling back to sleep after each feeding, but during the day i've given only 2 bottles, but otherwise i'm feeding him on the breast every hour...could def. use some prayers with this..but thanks so much for the encouragement... i'm hoping to increase the amount of times i pump.. just so i have more than enough milk for daddy when i go back to work.. which is a whole other story... (very anxious)

At least you are pumping. I've been having a hard time getting up the gumption to do so. You are so lucky. Keep it up.
