View Full Version : My poor baby is SO congested!

Neither of us got much sleep last night. in the night he got so stuffed up that when he wanted to eat he couldnt b/c he couldnt breathe that well thru his nose. he would get upset and fall back asleep but wake up shortly after still hungry and go thru the whole trying to eat again. i used the baby saline spray which helped a tiny bit but not much then i got out the boogie sucker and i couldnt really get anything out and i just pissed him off even more :(

is there anything else i can try for his congestion? i know medicine is a no-no at his age, hes only 3.5 months old. i have 3 classes today and work, and with no sleep i dont know how far im gonna make it!

UGh. I am sorry. This stinks. One thing that has helped us in the past, (appropraite for your baby's age) is a hot steamy bathroom.

well that will be do-able before bed since i slept an extra 20 minutes while he finally slept this morning i decided to take a shower when i get home instead of this morning. so i could sit him in the bouncy while i take a shower? our bathroom in our room is small so it gets nice and steamy!

get a humidifier for your room and put it right by him, add vicks vapor rub in it. Also put some baby vicks vapor rub under his nose and on his chest. works great, i used it the past few nights. My 3.5 month old is congested also. Keep using the saline spray or drops and it will give some relief. But the humidifier with vicks, will work the best.

Yeah I second the humidifier...it worked well for us when DD was really stuffy like that. Poor baby! Hope he gets better soon.

thanks :) i had my fiance get the humidifier all ready for him for tonight and i got out the baby rub. i didnt wanna forget anything, my fiance works til midnight so night time with the kids tends to be hectic. i really hope it helps, he was so miserable last night :(
