Tender Nipples & Period

Hi everyone - AF finally returned after 11 months! Yeah! I was just wondering if anyone else's nipples get very tender before they get their period. I don't think it's an infection b/ there are no other signs other than my nipples are extremely sensitive and it's painful when my DD first latches on. After about 30 seconds, it doesn't hurt anymore. Is this normal? I've never had this before or any problems during our year of nursing so I wasn't sure.

(We had our one year breastfeeding bday on Sunday! Yeah!)

I've only had 2 periods PP, and I can't remember the last one, but this one my nipples are much more sensitive than usual. They don't hurt when DS latches, but they do hurt if he bumps or grazes up against them, or kick them with his feet while sleeping :-). It doesn't sound like anything unusual to me.
