Hello,

My son is 8 months old and weighs about 18 pounds. I feel like I am getting confused on when and how much to feed him. When I feed him solids is that 'replacing' one of his breastfeeding sessions? Currently, I feed him solids twice a day and am unsure if I should be feeding him three times a day. I try to space out the solid feedings so they are a little while after a breastfeeding, but I am not sure this is correct. My son usually doesn't give any signals that he is hungry so I typically try to feed him based on how much time has passed since his last feeding.

Thank you

I can understand your confusion because there are many differnet opinions. Right now breastmilk is the most important thing to give your baby. Breastfeed first and then offer the solid food. Twice a day is often enough as long as your baby has been gaining weight well.
