I think I might have a wrong latch with my son, who by the way is 11 months old. When I nurse I have extreme pain. This has started ever since he got teeth which leads me to think he has had the wrong latch all along. If there is any way you could help me I would love it. Thanks soo much!!

No....we dealt with biting when he was 3 months....he does nothing but suck. Sorry, I should have mentioned that. When he was born, we did use a shield due to the fact that I have inverted nipples....we stopped using that a couple of weeks in because I was told it would effect my supply and than my milk came in all over again!!! I've gone back to using the nursing pillow again, hoping that might help, and I try to stay as relaxed as possible when I nurse.

It is hard to change the latch or sucking habits of an older baby. Try using the shield if he will let you and see if it helps. The other suggestion is to move the baby more toward the other breast to see if you can get his chin to go into the underside of the breast he is nursing on more.
