I've spent the past 3 days in a non-stop cleaning marathon getting ready for my sister's suprise 30th birthday at my house last night in addition to babysitting my 17 mo old nephew 2 of those days.

This morning I went to Winco to get groceries... I now have almost 9lbs of chicken, 2 lbs of ground beef, 4 lbs of sausage cooked and sitting in pans on my kitchen counter. There's another 2lbs of ground beef waiting to be rolled into meatballs and cooked.

Then I have 10 or so cups of chopped onions in baggies, and a ton of other veggies in the fridge waiting to be chopped.

Oh yeah... and at my Dr appt last week I was 4cm dilated, 90% effaced, and dd's head was at -1. Every time I stand up I want to push (and I've been on my feet almost solid for 4 days now) but contractions are miserably non-existent. lol

WHY on earth did I wait so long to try and get my freezer stocked with food for when the baby comes??? rofl With my luck I'll go into labor tonight without any of these recipes assembled and safely in the freezer.

On the upside, once they're done I'll have about a month's worth of dinners and breakfasts for my 8 yr old and I to eat when I have no desire or energy to cook because of the baby. ;-)

Oh, the joys of being a single mom. lol Thank God I moved back to the same town my family lives in over the summer... at least I'll have some help.

Eek! grab a bar stool and sit down while you cook! I hope that baby stays put until you get everything done.

Criminey. It sounds like you are nesting, big time. Get it all done and don't be surprised that as soon as you lay down to rest after all that work, you go into labor!

The funny thing is that I was having contractions last Mon and Tue, went to Dr on Wed. Started the cleaning on Thur and was hoping for more contractions so I could have this baby already. lol Worked like mad and no labor yet... but I hurt like crazy. I've had non-stop back pain for 2 weeks.

On the upside, I have a mostly clean house.

The cooking project has been put off for the last month... I've had shopping lists and recipes printed out for 2 months.

BUT... I now have about 3 weeks worth of dinners packaged and in the freezer.
King Ranch Chicken Casserole
Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas
Chicken Tetrazzini
Taco / Burrito meat

Tomorrow I'll assemble the other 3 casseroles, make the chili, beef stew, and put together the veggies for breakfast burritos.

I also have an appt. to train a new Avon rep in the morning...

I'd much rather go into labor and have this baby though.... ;-)

As soon as you get the rest of your food into the freezer, go have the baby :)
