...sing with me, everyone.
I'm a bucket of complaints. There's just so much to complain about. So, complain with me. Get it all out there.
Our friend's car battery has died. I'm supposed to be using this car to take/pick up kids from school while dh is working on our house. So, he jump started it this morning. I rolled down the window to talk to him and now the window won't go back up.
The inside of the passenger door of our van won't open, so I'd roll down the window and let myself out. Now, the window won't open.
Got a flat tire yesterday on our way to church. That put us in a worship mood.
Our dog is an inside dog, but since we are living at our friend's house while our roof is off, she can't come in (well, she did come in, but her nails scratched their wood floor, so they asked us not to let the dog back in). It's getting cold, though, and she's a boxer, so she can't handle the extremes. I don't know what I'm going to do.
The mouse problem from when we went to RO is now nearly under control, but I've not slept well in several days because of dh's fear of mice. He wakes up with a jump several times a night. We're exhausted!
My kids left a huge mess in the kitchen before they left for school. I'm pretty ticked about that. They know better.
I'm sure I could go on, but those are the major ones.
Go ahead and give your complaints. Misery likes company.

Poor MM. I'm sorry you're having such a hard week. Car troubles truly suck!

Dh just called. The tire is defective, they said. The front 2 will have to be replaced. He just replaced them this past Spring. UGH! Tires here are so expensive.
Dh has caught the stomach virus the kids had last week. He's whiny when he's ill. Put that on top of all the other stresses, let's just say this should be fun.

Can you cut your dog's nails so they don't scratch the floor?

I've tried everything. I made homemade dog booties. She tore them off, easily. I velcroed socks to her feet. Those stayed on, but they were too tight. If I loosened them, they'd come off. The vet cut the dog's nails.
Finally, I bought some soft claws from the States. But it was too late. The damage had been done. We told our friends and said we would pay for repair. They asked that the dog not come back in the house. She was only in the house at night. This floor is so soft. It's so new, too. I hate that this happened. It makes me very uncomfortable to talk with my friend, though she doesn't seem any different. I'm sure it will all work itself out, but it's so unfortunate!

Does the house have hardwoods throughout? How heavy is the dog? Is there a way that she could be carried from the outside door to the room you're staying in and kept in a crate at night?

There are quite a few things I *could* do, but our friends asked that the dog not come back in the house.
Yes, the wood is throughout, except on one end where it is tile. She's a medium size dog. She really didn't do much as far as walking/running in the house. The floors really do indent easily.
I have a plan for her. I have a nice, large dog house. I'll tack up a towel on the door and put a blanket inside. On really cold nights, I'll put my hot water bottle in there with her, hoping she won't chew it up. LOL! She's used to the dog house, so that won't be a problem. She also spends a lot of her time outdoors, so I don't think she'll be upset. My biggest concern is keeping her warm.

As odd as it sounds, I could probably put a coat on her. She didn't mind that last year.

That sounds like a good plan. We have heat lights in our dogs' house. Dh sometimes puts hay in it, too.

I bought a sweater one year for one of my dogs. She ripped it off within the first hour, lol.

Last year our kids did it for fun. Then when she escaped our yard and ran through the village, you wouldn't believe the funny stares. I guess they've never seen a boxer in a pink hooded jacket with silver stars on it. LOL!

Now if I can figure out how to get that car window up, I'll be all set for today.

I bet that was hysterical!
I hope you can get the car window up.

Me, too.
My boys just brought the dog house by horse and buggy. I don't think they've even been in a buggy like that before. They looked excited.

Well, at least they are having fun. :) I hope you get your car problems all worked out honey. And that your husband isn't too whiny.

I feel badly for even complaining about him. He's really a great guy. He goes through a lot and doesn't complain much. However, when he's ill, he LOVES attention. I'm bad in that I don't really baby people (except my babies). He's out at meetings not and will come home around bedtime. I'll make sure the house is nice and warm and send him right to bed----for his own good, ya know ;)
Even with everything that's going on, I managed to clean the house, do all the laundry, make a giveci (Romanian stew), etc. All I have yet is to shower, etc, and spend the evening with the kiddos.
If only I could get that stupid window up, the day would turn out allright.

ohh, I gotta look up a recipe for that. It is cold and rainy here. Darn. can't find one. If you have the time, would you please share the recipe?

There isn't a recipe that I'm aware of. My former language teacher made it and showed me how. I use earthenware in the oven. First I chop a bunch of onions. Then I peel and cut potatoes, large chunks. After that I throw in garlic cloves, salt, pepper, oil, and any other seasonings/herbs I'm feeling like on that day. I top it with homemade tomato sauce, water, and a bag of frozen, mixed veggies. You could put some meat in there if you want to. Fresh, crusty bread always accompanies this stew.

Oh, that sounds easy. I call it my "that looks good, and that and that and that looks good too" stew.
Thanks. :)

(these are a little cheaper)
Have your tires been recalled? If they were they will give you a refund on them.
