Day 10: Observations.

DS has the pee down pat during the day. I don't have to remind him at all. Night time is another matter. I've been getting him up when I need to go. Between 1 and 3 in the morning. Ugh!! Screaming fighting tantrum throwing ordeal. It wouldn't be so bad if I had DH here to help me but I'm figuring it's taking about 45 min to an hour to get him to calm down enough to empty his bladder. Not a pleasant experience for either of us. I pulled out some of my cloth diapers (G-diaper with an insert) to put them on him when he refused to go and for the first time he got really angry at them! I almost laughed when he said "I Not a BABY!" I took it off and he threw it across the room and "Humphed" then folded his arms mumbling "Not baby!"

The nights I didn't get him up or I slept through his wiggling, he wet in his or my bed. I'm really trying to steer clear of diapers at night but the battle is just nuts! He wears underpants AND pants now. Not that I don't like seeing a cute naked bum running around the house but seeing one in cute Diego Underpants is cute too.

We may attempt our first outing more then 1 min from the house. Will bring a potty with us and see how it goes.

I'm trying to find a good exciting treat, toy or chart that we can mark off when he goes poop. He's making it half way most of the time. Yesterday was our first no accident at all, day! Poop by himself and he's even been pouring it into the big potty and flushing.

Any Ideas are welcome!!

good luck! my dd turned 3 in sept and its a battle b/c she is at daycare and im at work so some days she just flat out refuses and they will try to force her which is like torture to her and its made it worse. tho some calm days at home she will ask to go all day but when we put her in panties she gets too anxious about trying not to pee in them that she has accidents. me i dont sleep b/c my 3mo is up most of the night so its an exhausting time! you sound like you have it down a lot better than we do! they will get it eventually, i think at night its hard for them to know to get up when theyre first learning.

try pull ups at night. we are doing underwear during the day and kayden is doing great and actually he has been waking up dry forever but I still dont want him to soak his bed. Kayden turned 3 in sept too and we jsut started this a few days ago and he is doing great. goo dluck with your son. I dont wake him up at night he would never want to get up to pee my daughter who is 6 doesnt even get up at nights. I have a sticker board and he loves putting them on there to get his toy and sometimes I give him a piece of halloween candy.

OK what is your secret? My DS is 3 years old and never ever ever wakes up dry, not even after nap except on very rare occassions. If he wears big boy pants around the house during the day he will wet them for sure. I ask him if he needs to potty he says "no". I take him to the potty and he sometimes goes sometime does not. He only seems to ask to go if we are out. He'll go when I ask him if he needs to go if we are out. He'll sometimes go complete independantly at daycare. I'm getting so frustrated and tired of buying diapers. Ok enough about me.

Congrats to those having sucess!
