Triplets nonetheless. What an incredible thing for this woman to do for her daughter!

I don't want to sound insensitive but I'm not really sure what to think. The babies were over 2 months premature, her maternal age would make me very nervous (even with the medical clearing).

the prematurity probably had more to do with it being a multiple birth then maternal age, though that can definably be a factor. they didn't even intend for it to be triplets, as it was a single and then a pair of surprise identical twins.

Would I do it for my own dc? Yes I would, in a heartbeat. Would I have my mother? No my mother is slightly older then her and not a good candidate for carrying a pregnancy. Even if she was, I would ask one of my sisters if it came to that.

They look so happy in the picture. I think it's awesome that she could do that for her daughter and will have a special bond with her grandchildren. Yes, there was some risk but there is risks to lots of things we choose to do in life and she was, I'm sure, fully informed and felt the benefits outweighed those risks.

I think it's awesome, and I agree with Babyblue that the prematurity was more likely caused by multiples than by age. I also agree with Wildflower.

A lot of multiparous women safely carry pregnancies into their late 40s, and stop only because their eggs are no longer viable. Triplets rarely make it to term, and that they made it past 30 weeks is pretty awesome, IMO.

Go grandma!

I think it's wonderful and the most precious and amazing gift she could give her daughter and son in law. :) I would do in a heartbeat for my own girls. My brother and his wife had fertility troubles and I offered to do it for them but one of the invitro attempts finally took and she got pg.
