I have a 16 month old and I'm still breastfeeding her. Mostly at naptime and bedtime. But I have had to stop feeding on one side due to extreme pain. My breast has actually started to crack and skin peeling off (sorry to be graphic). Now the other is starting the same thing. Does anyone have a gentle way to get her to stop. If she can see me she just screams when my husband tries to help. If anyone has anything to help I would love to hear. Thanks.

Extreme pain on one side only- and after so long... Do you have some lanolin? This sounds like a medical issue that can probably be fixed.

Well, I'm not good at weaning. But you can try lots of things, like replacing the nursing session with something else. You can distract your child by having a new naptime routine, and you can have your husband put her to bed. But you may have to leave for that to work.

Thanks so much for the info. I have thought about going to the doctors, but just haven't yet. Thanks again.
