Thursday we had my first u/s and saw a wondeful heartbeat on our little one! 154 bpm and baby was measuring 7w1d, which was exactly where I thought I should be based on when FF said I ovulated. So my official due date is July 8. Fun day - 07/08/09! We got pictures and a CD of it!
Then met with the intake nurse, doctor, insurance/billing lady, got sent down to the lab for bloodwork, then had been instructed to report over to the hospital for IV fluids as I had not kept more than 8oz of fluids down since Monday night and was dehydrated.
So I spent Thursday-Friday getting 5! bags of fluid. It wasn't until the 5th bag that the ketones started to clear and I actually started peeing normal amounts again for the amount of fluid I was taking in. First they gave me phenergan, but that did nothing, so then onto IV zofran. Since then I have not vomited at all, even though I still feel crummy part of the time. I was on the surgical floor, so it was much quieter than if they had put me up in L&D.
I'm to go back to the OB Monday or Tuesday to see how I am doing on my own at home with just oral zofran. I also have another u/s scheduled for the next week. ;D
I'm not on bedrest, but have strict instructions to take it easy and not to lift more than 10 lbs. Fortunately, it is the weekend and DH can take care of Allie. My mom, dad, and sis come Monday night and they can take over and mom can stay as long as I need help.
The humorous part of all of it was that they put me on a clear liquid diet while at the hospital. For breakfast they gave me red jello, apple juice, coffee with sugar but no cream, and chicken broth! That did not sound good to this pg woman! I ate the jello and drank the juice later. Lunch and dinner were similar with sweet tea instead of coffee and a popsicle added and one time was beef broth and one time was chicken broth. Well, at least I had my share of jello and popsicles!
This was the first time that Allie and I were apart for a big chunk of time, but she hung in there like a trooper!
