View Full Version : Thought I'd Share a Positive Ped Story

I read so often of pediatricians that at the one year mark start pushing weaning. I was a little nervous going into the one year appointment with my dd. She is very petite (16 lbs at 12 months) and I was concerned that my ped might push weaning. I was so pleased when my ped asked how often dd was nursing and I said 5-7 times a day and she said of that's great. She also indicated she was glad to hear I planned on nursing till at least 18 months. I think she was pleased because we are delaying vaccinations and she knows that bm contains so many important antibodies still.

Anyhow just wanted to share a positive story. Feel free to add yours as well.

Ours has been pretty good. When dd went in for her 18 month appt, and they asked about her eating habits, I told them she didn't eat too many solids, but she still nursed a lot. They didn't give me any grief about it. At her 2 year appt, I didn't even bring it up.

Mine has always been real supportive too.
Nothing negative at all.
I don't think he knows I'm still nursing though.
It never comes up because because we rarely are sick. Yaaa!

My pediatrician still nursed her baby at night, the baby I recalled was older than 1, maybe closer to 2years old.
