No milk this morning!!!!!!!

My sil is nursing and she woke up this morning with no milk, none at all. She pumped not milk, she nursed no milk,

She was congested and took sudefed, do you think this is why?
And if so, will she bounce back up when it is out of her system?

Please give me your opinions

I can believe that with pumping she wouldn't see much milk if her supply is low but I'm sure the baby is able to get something out. Its hard to say there is "no" milk when nursing.

I know that there are a lot of cold meds that can effect your supply...I don't know which ones but that could be the culprit. I'm sure someone else will know.

I would say yes for sure her supply will bounce back (assuming she's already established a supply) but it will take some time. Personally, I'd nurse as much as I could stand and pump after each session for a couple of days.

Those wiser will chime in soon im sure. I hope she feels better and her supply bounces back soon.

She usually will pump 6-8 ounces in the morning. but nothing this morning. and he wasn't on more then a few seconds and couldn't get anything

Sudafed can have a negative effect on your milk supply. I'd probably try to stop taking it so that the milk supply isn't affected more.

How old is the baby? Is she exclusively nursing? That may be why she is not able to pump any milk.

He is 4 months old, and she works for 8-10 hours a day.
She pumps every morning because he won't wake up to nurse usually. and he sleeps through the night

poor girl, he isn't feeling well, so he isn't nursing well, she isn't feeling well, so her milk already is going to suffer, on top of it she took sudefed, and she has her period. I feel so bad for her.

How is her supply this morning. I would say the sudefed combined with her AF is her issue. Is this her first PP AF?

One of my friends took sudefed and her milk completely dried up for half a day... Sh drank tons of fluid and pump and her supple came back with no problem

Yes, stay away from the sudafed and make a big batch of oatmeal cookies, pronto!:)

I second the oatmeal cookies just because I want one. LOL You can also take Fenugreek to increase supply. AF totally messed with me regardless and Emily always seemed to eat more often around that time. I hope she has back up supply. If not she may consider increasing her pumping sessions just in case.
