I am a complete nut when it comes to Black Friday. I admit I am an addict.
:p

I rarely even leave the house on black friday. I went out a couple of years ago to be with my SIL and MIL and the only part I enjoyed was the coffee at the begining.

This year, I may participate in a yardsale with a friend. It'd be nice to actually make money on black friday.

No - but the Hell is a little strong for my opinion.

But I'm a nut who used to enjoy working retail on Black Friday. Get a little caffeine in me & it's an adrenaline rush all day long!

I always thought the sales after Christmas was better. Sometimes I grab things for the next year.

My husband and I were crazy last year to wait out at Best Buy from midnight to 5 am, outside! It was probably about 5 degrees...by 2am we were freezing despite our best efforts to bundle up, we even had camping chairs. By 3am, we took turns going to the truck warming up/napping.

We got the computer we wanted. $1000 computer for $200. We were fucking cold but believe it or not, we had fun. Someone even passed out hot chocolate. Pizza hut was popular.

I have no desire to do anything like this again. **laughs**

no freaking way. And this year the Italian workers at the NEX are striking on Black Friday. It won't be pretty.

I'm as yet undecided. There are a few things that I really want to get. However, the only money I have to spend is what I have been saving up for months to get a new cell phone. I have already asked my momma to keep DD on Thursday night, just in case.

Last year I found some really good deals and overall saved about $100. If I do go this year I probably won't be looking for more than 1 or 2 things.

I love to, but I have to work, so I'm going Saturday morning while most deals are still good.

Im in the hell no! camp. I will be sitting in that day with my jammies and hot cocoa and movies. :) Poor dh has to work, which includes driving the crazy shoppers around from store to store....he'll prolly make good money that day, but I don't wish that on anyone.

Honestly that is one thing I DO NOT want to do with my dh. He hates Black friday shopping! Well he hates all shopping. I usually go with a girlfriend.
He is staying home with the kids. Which is way better anyway because Dylan doesn't stay with anyone other then us very well!

I'm a big fat HELL NO.

Of course I have to work but even if I didn't I wouldn't go out that day. I can't handle the crowds. I get to angry with how rude people get on that day.

I am not sure. I had planned to then thought about the crowds and decided no. But then I decided I will to get some good deals but now dh is sick so I dont know if he will be up to watch the kids.

I am last year dd3 was still waking up at night for marathon night nursing so we did not make it out there till 9a. This year we will head out when the stores open and the weather will be great too. We are buying a flat screen TV for our room, a digital camera for dd1, a PSP for dd2 and a ipod shuffle for DN so I am hoping to get good deals on all these things.

Hell no.

I am not a crowd person at all. I couldn't imagine large crowds of sleep deprived crazy people. Just thinking about it makes my shoulders tense.

Not me. My daughters will likely go out, but I've no money to shop. They'll be out for fun, not necessarily to buy Christmas gifts.

When I do shop, it's first thing in the morning, during the week, when the stores are quietest.

Maybe one year, if I have money, I may do it just for the experience of doing it and if I can find anything that would be a bonus. The idea of fighting crowds having to find certain things does not appeal to me at all.

My daughters have done it a couple of times. They were walking into Kohl's early one morning with a couple of friends and they were laughing and talking. An older couple was walking along side of them and the man asked if they were going to fight people for deals. They l aughed and said no, he said "why not, you could take 'em!"

They had a ball people watching while they stood in lines that wrapped around the store to buy a $5 purse, LOL.

I'd like to, but I'm still not feeling good.

It is a ritual for me~ I must go! I don't even have a list or a plan, I am flying by the seat of my pants! That's why you can't bring the DH~ he will just be dead weight.

If I bring mine, he is not allowed out of the car, he is in charge of parking lot flotation: this is an aggressive position and suits him well. It also cuts down transportation time between shops:)

no dh and I have worked in retail most of our lifes, except when I did the medical thing for a while. I got sick as hell of getting punched, pushed, elbowed, screamed at, spit at and knocked down as an employee, the hell I would try and fight it out with other people all trying to buy crap.

I'll go so far as to say fuck no. I'd cancel cmas before I'd do that.

lol I am getting a kick out of peoples reactions to Black Friday.

I used to be the Hell no department. When I realized how much I could get for my kids for Christmas is I only braved the crowd....thats when I got hooked.

I even went last year a week before I was due with Dylan. I was secretly hoping the bustle would put me into labor...

It didn't work. He was still 3 days late. :p

I already get my kids too much, lol. I don't think I need the encouragement.

No. I think my kids and I may spend the day at the Huntington Library with my brother and my nephew. Or maybe we will head to the reindeer romp at the LA Zoo. No shopping, though.

Yeah I'll go. I think it's fun. Every time I've gone out people have been really cool to each other.

That has been my experience, I have never run into rudeness. I love how you can feel the excitement in the air:)

I have never run across people being rude. But I take precautions. I wear thick boots because I have gotten rammed by shopping carts. But I blame that on the crowds rather then mean people.
