My 5 week old spits up almost every feeding. I thought BF babies didn't spit up (much). Sometimes I think maybe I overfeed her because I know I could easily pump 5 or 6 ounces. Maybe her tummy is too small? But after I clean her - and myself up, she wants more!!! Any thoughts? Thanks!

Some babies spit a lot, some babies do not spit at all. All babes are different.

I will say that my DD was an excessive(sp) spitter) I am talking 10-12 changes of clothes a day for her 2-3 for me, and about 20 bibs a day. We also finally ditched the burb clothes and used blankets instead. LOL!

My DD was not typical and was diagonised with GERD and ending up having a lot of other food issues that tied into her massive amounts of spitup. She spit up all day long, and also had little weight gain.

Some babies are sensitive to some things in Mommas diet, dairy for example. BUT do know that her spitup may be normal!

Is your baby spitting up after nursing? All day? How is her weight gain so far?

Here is a little link for you.

Maybe oversupply? Do you spray with let-down? I really don't think you can overfeed a breastfed baby since they pretty much regulate there own intake. Have you tried burping her often? Maybe she is swallowing/gulping air while nursing, more so if you have a oversupply/overactive let-down issue. I find with my OALD (rather at the height of) my babe would gulp alot of air while trying to keep up with the flow that after he burped he would nurse a bit more.
