I got some at Target last time and liked those really well, except they shrank and were a little short. I could just get the next size up though. I also got some at Motherhood and I HATE those. They're short and wide and I don't like the nursing opening and the straps are too stretchy.

I was thinking of just using an Old Navy Shelf Cami but they dont' stretch down as far as I thought they would.

Any suggestions?

I really don't want to spend $50 on a nursing tank since I'll probably need to get multiple ones and I typically where them every day.

I got a couple good ones at Kohls but that was the summer time:) I enjoy wearing a sports bra, have you tried that?

I bought the expensive Glamourmom tank tops, and I bought some cheaper ones at Target, and I like the Target ones a lot more.

I need something to cover my belly so I don't feel so self conscious about the flub.

All of mine are from Glamour mom and I love them all. I think I have one in every color.

Psyche- the ones from Target used to be okay...I've heard there aren't separate openings for the nursing tanks anymore but the length is just fine on them. I bought mine over a year ago and I love that separate opening style of those ones.

Old Navy has some really nice cami's (but they are the BASIC cami...not shelf bra): http://www.oldnavy.com/browse/product.do?cid=5513&pid=507590&scid=507590602. I have a bunch of these in different colors. There is no shelf bra, which I love, and the straps are pretty stretchy too!

Target also has some nice cami's. They are basic cami's as well. The only downside that I've found with these is that the straps aren't super stretchy but they are still pretty nice:) Link here: http://www.target.com/b/ref=in_se_pagelist/176-6328739-2895963?ie=UTF8&node=367980011&pricerange=&index=tgt-mf-mv&field-browse=367980011&rank=-product%5Fsite%5Flaunch%5Fdate&viewID=leaf&field-pricebin=&store=&rh=&page=1&fromBrowse=1

One downside to the basic cami idea is that you have two full layers of shirts plus your (nursing) bra. Some people don't like that. I love it but that is just me.

I just use the camis from Old Navy. Love them. They pull down very easily and don't show your tummy.

I actually bought a maternity tank, in a smaller size. It has no bra, I just pull it down, and wear a nursing sleep bra under it, and pull both down together. It's longer due to it being maternity and covers my tummy nicely! It doesn't sag at all in the tummy area, or look maternity at all.

it's the Liz Lange brand. I wore XL during pregnancy, and this is a L, and is perfect.

Well, ON was having such a good sale I bought 3 of their nursing tanks. Hopefully I'll like them.

I love the shelf bra tanks from the Closet and they are super cheap. I don't know if you have the Closet where you live ... I live in San Diego and there are bunch here.

i tried the target and the glamourmom. hated the target, and while the glamourmom was ok during pg ( i bough it during pg, before ever having bfed...) i found that once my milk came in the straps were really digging. also i hated the clasps and the nursing holes.

i went and tried a bravado...never looked back. more money than the target, but IMHO head and shoulders above. really comfy, great quality, nice looking. i'd rather have two of them and wash them often than 4 of the others :)

you can find them here if you are still looking...

I now use regular stretchy camis, not the nursing kind. They are very light, but still cover, as you say, the "flub". It is an extra layer, but it's cooler now, and that's fine with me.

A local specialty bra boutique here recommends the Bravado tanks above any other nursing tank on the market. They're pricey, but worth it, from what I've read, and I'm planning on getting one soon. They're an actual bra in a tank, which makes them more supportive than most nursing tanks, which just have the built in shelf bra.

yup...the support makes such a difference. shelf bras gave me no help whatsoever. the bravados are great :)

I'm returning the Old Navy ones. There is no nursing opening. The whole top of the shirt comes down like a nursing bra and there is nothing underneath it. And b/c of the design, you then would have to fish back to get the strap. No thank you. I'm going to order the Target ones for a stop gap until I can afford the Bravado one

Aww! That stinks! Thanks for the feedback, I was looking at the Old Navy ones this past weekend online and wondered about yours.

Does it have to be a nursing tank? I hope you find one that you like:)

No. I just want the flub covered while I nurse. I was going to just use ON's shelf camis but they don't pull down as much as I need them to.

I bought some really cheap ones at Walmart that were like that. It drove me nuts trying to reach back behind me to get the strap back. I wish I had noticed that before I washed and worn them.

Did you look at Old Navy's basic cami's? I have tons of these and they are super stretchy:)
