I love tie dye. I want to do some soccer socks for my daughter. That will be fun to do later.

Fun. We are doing fabric paint handprints on kitchen towels for grandmas christmas presents today. I'm going to give them some fabric markers too.
We did tie dyed oneises for my niece, the kids had a lot of fun - not exactly tie dyed but still cute.

All you need is rubberbands and dye, right?

I bought a tye dye kit at the store. Comes with the dye, rubber bands, gloves and instructions.
Done. Got 8 shirts and 3 gdiapers done. could have done more but my feet started swelling up.

The anticipation is killing me! 1-3 more hours.. and then I'm going to be gone! I'll be up rinsing them out after the kids go to bed.

Make sure you rinse them very well and don't let them sit in the wash water before washing-they can bleed together. Don't let them sit in the washer at all after they're done washing either. If possible wash them twice in a row and add a bit extra fabric softener if you use it the second time. It will take quite a few washings for them not to bleed in the wash.
I learned all of this the hard way!
I can't wait to see your creations!

They're awesome. I'm so impressed. I tried tie-dye once. It was a big failure. I really like Corey's.

Going to let the other shirts and the gdiapers set over night. I'll rinse them and wash them tomorrow morning. Maybe they will soak up more color. I'm kind of sad about Corey's but we will see what happens. Maybe one of the other shirts will turn out better.

Okay! So they didn't turn out all that bad! Corey's I mean. Sure, it's not as bright and vibrant as it was when still wet but it's still rockin'! Got all the first shirts washed and dried and teamed up with their sweats. Going to wrap them all up and start getting the kids excited for christmas.
The rest are in the washer now. Pics of them will follow.

Gdiapers - They were all kind of an off dingy light yellow. I'm going to be replacing the Velcro.

You did a great job! They came out really good :) If you ever decide to do tie dye again are worried about fading, I highly reccommend procion dye from dharma trading company. It stays really nice and bright wash after wash. I do leave it on for 24 hours, and also use everything in the kid (soda ash, urea, and the textile detergent). http://www.dharmatrading.com/html/eng/1968-AA.shtml?lnav=dyes_kits.html They also sell everything you could ever think about wanting to tie dye and their prices are good.
