So I had everything ready two beautiful children one in just pants the other in her diaper, paper down to cover the table towels ready to paint.

They each made a beautiful handprint/pokey finger towel for each grandma. I wanted them to make the aunts one but they were getting bored. In the time it took for me to grab a paper towel from two steps behind me my kitchen and bathroom where covered in fabric paint.

I grab them, strip them and throw them in the tub still covered in paint. Ds2 starts squirting some paint on his arm with his bath toys. I don't much of it. Mom calls I have the phone with and start describing her paint covered grandbabies to her, when I notice a bright red spot under the paint on Ds2. Everywhere the paint was he is bright red!

The water is full of paint. Dd1 is covered in paint.

I scrub off the remaining paint, yank them out of the water, pull the plug on the tub, run to the kitchen for cleaner and cornstarch. Clean the tub with wet shivering children splashing the the puddle they made. Fill the tub add the cornstarch and re-bathe them. He says "that's better mom."

Then I hear lunch boiling over.

Ds2 is fine so far, DD1 no reaction, Dd2 just wants the boob, house is re-picked up.

We've also had two accidents on the couch, two escapee cats, trashed living room, and they striped their sheets. I love being a mom, can I have a nap?

Sounds like a allergic reaction. Not fun. I hope he is fine soon. How 'bout some benadryl gel?

Both of my DC do this with a lot of things. The libary put a stamp on DD's hand last week and her whole little hand swelled up!

yeah that's what I thought, he's never done this before.

My older son has a random allergy, he wakes up covered in hives. Has them for a day or two them nothing. It happens maybe a couple on times a year. Started around age 2, we could figure out anything new he had been exposed to. Three houses, three counties, totally different soaps, detergents, washing machines, different beds and bedding, food everything it still happens. Benadryl and cornstarch baths help. I didn't know they made a gel, have to get some.

I did not know they made the gel either untill we went to Food allergy Camp last week and DD's hands broke out from the soap used for hand washing. The medical staff brought it to me, and her hands cleared up really fast!

So dh looked up the MSDS on the paint, it has a warning not to let it come into contact with skin! The bottle doesn't say any thing about it. It says non-toxic on a big symbol, in the directions it says brush on. allow to dry 4 hours. apply second coat. wait 24 hours for washing. So my fault it doesn't say I can finger paint, but it doesn't say do not get on skin.

Ds2 is fine, but I am very irritated that I did this and that there wasn't a warning.

Wow. Glad you could treat it immediately.

I'm sure the towels will turn out darling anyway.
