The last few days I've been trying to work on Christmas gifts non-stop. I've been staying up late every night and getting up early with Haley. I've been running to a few goodwills and thrift stores and find myself daydreaming about finding a winning lottery ticket or someone just saying "here.... I know you have been struggling day in and day out and overcoming so many things.... here's $10,000" :p

Normally I always look at the bright side and am very thankful for everything that I have. I don't normally want for much.

I guess it's just the holiday season getting to me. There are so many people that I care about that I would LOVE to shower with gifts, and I just can't do it. Mike works SOOO hard for our family. He's been working 7 days a week for almost a year (with the exception of maybe 5 days). I would love to buy him nice things and I can't. I would love to get him a Home Depot Gift card so he can replace his broken tools for work. I just can't. That hurts the most.

Ok.... I've been whining an awful lot recently. I'll stop now.

:( I hear you there. There is so much I'd like to do this Christmas, that I either don't have the time or money for.
I AM trying to look on the bright side though, and focus on what I can do.

Do you ever just wish some miracle would happen?

Boy, do I ever. Over the last few years, we've been stiffed by different companies and clients to the tune of nearly $10,000. Most of it due to companies that went out of business owing us money. If we had that now, it could turn this ship around, but instead we struggle with no real end in sight.

Well.... if it can't happen for me...hopefully it will happen for one of you! :p

There are many ways to capture the Christmas spirit! Do you want some ideas? I know your Haley is crafty! Help her help you get into the spirit:)

As for your DH, be creative! Make him a coupon book to redeem his favorite things like a full body massage, his feet being rubbed, stuff like that.

There's a huge miracle I'm wishing would happen but it has nothing to do with Christmas or money.

I check my mailbox every day in hopes there's a million-dollar check in there, but alas, it hasn't arrived yet.

I agree with Mrs.R about the "personalized" gifts...you could tuck little notes into his sock drawer, the bathroom cabinet, in his lunch, etc. promising wonderful things to come. One of the best gifts I've ever given to my dh was a surprise dessert. I baked little meringue puffs and filled them with his favorite homemade pudding for his birthday and you would have thought I'd given him the moon.

Haley's mom, have you considered selling your crafts on Etsy? Maybe start selling in the new year! :)

my if I ever win the big lottery money it is planned out to the penny.

decent size old farm house with a few acers of decent pasture for the horses. -notice I said decent, not a mansion.

a small house for my parents.-which goes to my younger sister when they are gone.

a small house for my twin sister.

planned out colladge funds for every one of my dc and all my dneice and dnephews.

massive retirement plan for dh and I.

and the rest would be spent buy real estate and fixing it up, then renting it out at actualy affordable rents to try and better the quality of life for the people in my area that cant afford the 250 thousand dollar homes around here.
