ok, well, I turned 40. and nothing happened

THe big 4-0. For months I've been dreading the whole 40 thing. I was stressed about what turning 40 would mean to me. Would I feel older? Less attractive? Used up? More confidant? More mature?


Ok, so here I am at 40.

And I felt like I did yesterday. Except that it *is* kind of cool to be in your 40s and still look quite young. Is that the ONLY perk?


Where is that whole "40 is the new black" or "40 is the new 25"? Where is the big hoopla about being 40?

I think that is a pretty good perk. I think would be SO much worse to turn 40 and look and feel older. You seem like you've accomplished a lot in your life and that you still strive to accomplish more. That is a great example to show your children.
