DH bought hockey tics through stubhub.

He took off work today so that he could ds (8) to a game where they're 3 rows away from the ice. It's sort of a new year's day tradition.

They drove over an hour away to the game and when the ticket agent scanned their tics, they said they couldn't get in. DH went to the ticket agent to find out why. DH was told that the tics were from a season tic holder who'd put them on the team's sell back list, which will automatically void the tics. The tic holder then put them on stubhub and dh bought them.

DH was on his cell phone with supervisors at stubhub for 20 minutes trying to get into the game, then his cell phone battery died. Poor ds was crying when they walked back to the car. :(

Is a refund the only thing dh can expect from stub hub?

I have no idea but I'm really sorry that your ds was so sad that just breaks my heart.

Aww! I feel so bad that your Dh and your DS lost out on an tradition.

They should refund him his money.

I'm semi confident they'll refund the money, but that seems so little when it made my ds cry. I want the seller banned for life from stubhub and would be ok with him/her being put in jail. (ok, I'm over reacting with the jail thing, but really, that's really, really crappy of them to put up bogus tickets, trying to sell them in two places. I wonder if he double sold them.)

I've never heard of Stubhub. Your poor ds, though. :(

Were the tickets purchased using a credit card? If so, even if Stubhub tries not to refund your money, you still should have no problem getting it back.

File a claim thru your credit card company now and they can help you clear it up with stubhub.

dh used to work for them ,he said they may give a refund or they may just say read the fine print. He also said it could be a scam (the seller selling tix he sold back to the team for example in which case they will not take responsibility). They may give tix to another venue.
I remember lots of ppl quitting fom there because the whole operation was so shady.

The worst thing I remember is that you can sell ny value tix for any price. For example 11 tix selling for hundreds.

Good luck, Id keep arguing until I was satisfied.

I'd being throwing a hissy fit and demanding that heads roll. I'm so sorry for your little guy ~ have you thought about asking for tickets to another game?

DH will talk to them today and "file a claim". He's bought and sold tickets on stubhub before with no problem. He says they have a 100% guarantee. We'll see.

Good call about the credit card. I hadn't thought that, I'm still on figuring out how to make it a death penalty case. (kidding, mostly)
