I'll still post my pictures here of course but I started a photo blog. I need a place where I can put it all in one spot to measure my growth. Check it out and tell me what you think!

Beautiful pictures!

The "Danger" sign picture is hilarious. :D

How big is that trapdoor spider? I might just take Teresa's snow over your spiders!

Thank you!

I'll find you the comparison pic we took - that spider was found in amberry's pool! The coin by the spider is a quarter. I'm going to scroll a bit for those who don't want to see it.

Okay, it's official. I'm staying in the eastern part of the US. :p To be fair, though, we have our share of big, ugly spiders, too, but I'm just used to them.

Yeah, this guy is kinda big. I'm glad we found him dead.

I love the perspective and depth of field of the train tracks and autumn leaves pics! Good luck with your photo journey. My mom and I started a blog for 365 days of pics this year. I REALLY want to stick with it and post at least one good pic a day.

;)Thats really cool. Spiders are scary though. I guess that is one nice thing about the cold...scary's away all the nasty critters.

I love this idea! I've tried starting blogs before and never can stick with them but I love taking pictures and I actually just took some photos of my niece that I kind of like yesterday, so I'm off to a start - don't mind if I copy you, do you? :)

Crabbie, are you taking a class(es) somewhere or just reading books, DVDs, youtube, trial and error, etc. to learn photography? (That's what I'm doing) I have a frustrating level of ignorance when it comes to lighting and exposure, but I've been trying to educate myself as much as I can.

Wildflower--not at all. :) If you start a blog I would love to follow it to see your progress. For a while I am going to be going with a theme just to make myself get inspired. Hopefully this will help me scrap more as well.

Thank you.

No classes yet. I've been reading other photo blogs to get ideas and what not. I plan on a class eventually - you know - when I have the time and money.

Here is a bunch of photo blogs you can check out.

The boat pictures would benefit from a polarizing filter. I like the rr-tracks shot too.

Oh one thing I would change, put a watermark on each and every photo on your blog. Yup, yup, do that.

Crabbie, thanks for posting that link - there is a wealth of info there!

Still Tbog, I did set one up but let's see if I stick with it for a couple weeks, and then I'll get back to you with a link - LOL :)

I took pictures of my niece yesterday. I liked how a couple turned out. I didn't have a whole lot of time and my 'set up' is next to nothing, but I'm just proud of myself to have done it on manual mode on my camera - LOL. That's progress anyway. Also I have a d40 so the 50mm lens I have I have to manually focus, which is somewhat of a pain - especially in medium to low light I'm having trouble getting sharp pics. Maybe I'll find some good tips on the link Crabbie posted ;)

Here are the pics of my niece I took if you want to see them: http://www.flickr.com/photos/26501185@N05/sets/72157612002366931/

How do I do that?

You can make a simple watermark in PS, I will try to find you a tutorial on it. Then once you have made it you just save it as a brush and stamp it on at the end of your editing. Off to search....

file --new--make your watermark--rectangle marquee around your mark---
edit--define new brush--name it--save--done !!!

You are getting better and better! I will get some cool sites for you from dh. He is into photography and has a list of neat sites. You need to try the painting with light technique. Your dd would love it!

Oh yeah, PS is photoshop. YOu need not have the big one, of course I would love to but it is way out of my range right now. I just have PS6.0 I gave $80.00 for it last year. Love it!

Try to get whatever version saves 16bit TIFF files.
