11 month old baby and mastitis!

I have an 11 month old baby and I am sure I woke with mastitis yesterday. I had the standard pain, chills aching and feverish!! I usually am able to rest use heat and take tylenol and no antibiotic but in the past I have never had it this late in the game. I ended up taking Zithromax last night as I am allergic to so many antibiotics. I felt better this morning than yesterday but still having pain and redness and now feeling a little cruddy this afternoon. I just took my second dose of antibiotic. Im little concerned about why Im still kinda yuck. I hope the Zithromaz will work and how do you know if you have an abscess?

You need to be doing frequent hot soaks with the affected area. For a minimum of twenty minutes followed by some rigorous circular massage and then see if you can hand express any milk from the affected area.

Who precribed the zithromax? I would recommend a probiotic along with that to ward off thrush.
