Went to the doctor today to get some blood work, as I'm about 5 weeks pregnant. I'm still nursing DS who is 10 months old. My dr. wants me to stop nursing during the pregnancy, as I have 2 autoimmune diseases. He says that the autoimmune diseases, the pregnancy, and breastfeeding is to much on my body, and I have to agree. I'm so tired that I sleep every chance I get. How can I make this easier on both DS and me? I figure that I could probably do a night feeding, so that it will be easier for both of us, but I really don't know how to go about it.

First off Congrats to you Momma.
After I had my Dd I almost died in the O.R. I had lost so much blood. But even as weak as I was I still nursed me daughter, and that lasted 2 months. Its easier now.
So I understand, You made it this far its ok dont be to hard on yourself. I think you should just do it gradually intoduce an extra meal or two of solids, it would be better for the both of you. Maybe keep one nursing session for a few months after? Cut back on one feeding every 3-6 days.
Whatever you decide. You are a great Mother for what you have done for your son.
Best of luck to you Mommy

I plan on keeping the night nursing, as it relaxes him so much, and I figure that one feeding, per breast, per day won't hurt to much. It's just living with the fullness and soreness in my breasts, while they get used to producing much less.

I wish you the best with the weaning and hope it and the pregnancy goes smoothly! You've done a fantastic job momma!

congrats!
my dr suggest that i stopped nursing at 20 weeks when i was preg, but honestly i dont have any health issues other than being anemic and i was dead tired all the time too lol
and yes they will get used to making less, they work on a supply and demand system, when he stops nursing all the time your supply will go down to what he is using. but in the meantime you could hand express a tiny bit just to relieve that feeling, but dont express too much or you will keep making a lot. the best thing to do is make it a gradual process, cut out one feeding at a time to let your supply drop slowly
