Hi, I am 100% new to this forum and don't want to get off on the wrong foot. So, first off I hope it okay to ask for advice here for a campaign I am working on. Actually it is several campaigns that I want to run nationally, but I will list just one at a time. If that is okay.
Who I am?
Well, simply an artist, but I like to create art that supports humanity.
What Kind Of Campaigns?
Pro-active Campaigns that anyone can organize and execute. Actually really cool campaigns - I am in it to win.
Cost?
Um, free, free and can you say free...they are designed to be free, but if you download the art or fliers, which are free, you have to pay for printing your own t-shirt or fliers for you campaign. Of course each campaign will vary...but free is a priority.
What's the first campaign?
Um, this is where I feel silly...as artist that suffers from to much creativity (This is why I need feed back)
The Booby Art Project - Donate, Adopt, Auction or Create A Booby.
You simply donate a breastfeeding picture for free - in return your image is turned into an art piece and you get the T-Shirt design and Collectible Card print ready files (this is free to you for your donation)
1. You can now print as many t-shirts for you and your loved ones to wear featuring your art piece.
2. You can print as many collectible cards as you want, sign them to make them official, then trade them with other breastfeeding mommies and send them as cards to loved ones and friends.
Important to note: These Art Pieces Are Commercial Grade (there are a few exceptions which only apply if a hobbyist does the work - not to degrade their work, but we want to open it up to all levels of artist to except donated images. Of course you can pick from the artist available)
What does it mean to have a art piece that is Commercial Grade?
It means that they are beautiful art pieces that could sell on the open market and people would buy them to display in their homes, wear in fashion etc...which in turn would put breastfeeding into the public eye on a regular basis.
Do you think people would buy into this?
Seeing is believing...that is the cool thing about art - you can say what you want before hand, but once you see a finished piece - "OOOOOH AAWWW I have to have one." Is a typical response.
Okay, so, that covers Donate and part of Create.
What about Adopt & Auction?
Keeping it simple -
Adopted - each finished art piece can be adopted and turned into fashion or wares (prints, posters, calendars, sheets etc...) for personal use only.
Auctioned - These are art pieces that can be used for commercial purposes with the agreement that they are used in conjunction to support & help charities.
Again, both of these put breastfeeding into the public eye. Awareness Through Art.
Okay, that was project one - it gets better, but like I said - one at a time. As for the release of this project...just around the corner. I have more pieces to finish and put up on display before I can show anyone.
Do you have samples, because I can't believe a nursing mother and child could possibly make a beautiful art piece? (just kidding - I added that for the nay Sayers.)
Yes, I have samples but again, not open yet and I need some feedback.
Please let me know if I am stepping on toes or offending anyone in the forum.
Now (also, remember this is free - the only thing I am selling you on is the art idea) -
1. Would this be a project you would participate in?
2. Would you wear a t-shirt of your custom art piece?
3. Would you wear a friends or relatives custom art piece?
4. Would you collect the art cards?
5. Do you like the idea of trading the collectible art cards?
6. Should the cards be numbered?
7. Do you think using art to promote breastfeeding will have a positive or negative effect?
8. What is your overall take on this project?
9. Is there not enough details for you to make an assessment at this time?
Comments, questions and suggestions are welcomed.
Thanks,
Angelus
