Weaning at 11.5 months?

My 11.5 month old just doesn't seem that interested in nursing. She signs "milk" but then takes 2 sucks and is done. The past couple of days she has totally refused to be nursed to sleep. Do you think she's weaning? Could it be something else?

It's more likely something else like teething. At her age, I would treat it like a nursing strike. Self-weaning does not happen abruptly, but very gradually. True self-weaning does not usually occur until around 18 months of age (or so).

Hang in there. I bet you can get her back to the breast!
