Well, my sick hamster has died. (I'm pretty sure, I haven't opened the whole cage up, but I cannot see it's sides moving at all.)

I'd gotten some antibiotics and tried giving it to Peter Tutu Valentine and that seemed to give her enough energy to go to her sleeping area. This is an area that I cannot reach without opening up the whole cage.

The ground is frozen, I tried to go dig a hole to bury it but cannot.

I'm really not willing to put her in the freezer and wait until thaw. Am I just awful to throw her away? It seems horribly disrespectful.

Awwww...I'm sorry, JD. I'd have to put her in cold storage, until I could dig a hole to give her a proper burial.

We had a hamster in my freezer for a few weeks one winter. Wrap her up in some towels and big ziplock bags, put the hammy's name on it and stick her in. It's not as bad as it sounds.

I wish I had a fire pit, then we'd go with cremation.

wrap her in some paper and then a ziplock bag. I have several betta fish that I was rather atached too that are getting a mass grave this spring.

I'm not keen on a hamster in my freezer either, but if I couldn't break ground then I would.

I'm sorry JD!

Perhaps you could find a nice mosoleum that would serve as a safe resting place? Something that would stay outside until the ground is soft enough.

I'm sorry, JD. :( I agree with this:

Nipple Nectar's mausoleum idea - maybe wrapped and double bagged under a terracotta pot set on concrete weighted down.
