Food shopping, orthodontist, laundry, cleaning the house. I worked all weekend and have the next two off to get stuff done.

Hopefully there will be a MLK special on TV I can catch with the kids today. And... maybe I will get a cake- I am always looking for reasons to buy cake.

I'm doing what MLK would do, working.

You know when I type that it reads terribly condecending. But I don't think MLK would take a rest from his responsibilties in life. I'm talking my normal day to day responsiblities. DH and I caught a very interesting documentry on the integration of football.

I had planned to sleep in with DH since he's off today.

But Plumbers showed up at 8:00 to do some repair work, and that was the end of that. The landlord forgot to tell us they would be here this morning.

But on the bright side, The cat is making friends with the plumbers. They keep saying they don't usually like cats, while petting her head and saying "but this cat is neat." She's on one of the guy's shoulders, like a monkey. So , free entertainment.

Your kids have school on MLK day? I didn't know schools were open.

We are hanging out. I am about to make lunch and then I have to fold and put away some laundry, and figure out what to make for dinner. I have abandoned my dinner list this week.

We were going to a friends house to do crafts, but my whole family slept in, ugh. So I had to cancel that. I'm trying to think of something I can do with them now.

DH had to teach today so the kids and are are just hanging around. It's freeing cold and I have no car.

Working, which stinks because I usually have Mondays off.

We included him in our homeschool session. We read a book about Martin Luther King and talked about him. We also printed out a Little Bill book about MLK and the kids colored it.

Here is the book is anyone else wants to print it out. It's for preschool age but my 6 year old enjoyed putting it together and decorating it.

Nathan is off today and we were gonna do some stuff together but Elise isn't feeling well. Not sure what is wrong with her, but she's very sleepy. So, we're just taking care of her and laying around the house today.

Yep! My kids school is OPEN and in full session. I think it stinks! We're the only school district that I know of having class today. (btw - I live in a well populated subburb of Phila and my kids go to public school)

You're welcome! :)

I forgot to add this earlier but for Obama's inauguration tomorrow, there is a nice printable page to color of Obama here:

While I'm at it, this is an awesome printable coloring page site. It has EVERYTHING. People, animals, holidays, letters, numbers, nature, religious,tv and movie cartoon characters and more. My kids love to pick pages to color off this site.

Our district/county had school on MLK day until very recently. They made it a no school day to try to attract more black teachers.

I think that on days like MLK, Veterans, President's Day, there should be school and those things should be taught. (Granted, my ds had been driving me crazy today, so that may taint my opinion somewhat.)

Spending way to much money on the internet while the kids play computer games. :P

It's our oldest son Joshua's 22nd birthday :)

I'm resting and quilting today. I spent all day Saturday prepping food and all day Sunday cooking, serving and cleaning it all up. He had a bunch of his buddies over for football and food.

He had to work today, when he got home dh took him and our other two boys, plus a friend, out to Bass Pro Shop and Gander Mountain and to dinner. The older girls both had other plans so it's been just Ruthie and I since 3:30 and will be just us until at least 9:00.

I have a rare few hours of time to just relax.
