I went into the chiro today for my adjustment. I was in a MVA at the end of August and have gone done to one adjustment per week (instead of 3).

My back, near my left shoulderblade, has been sore and bugging me for the last couple of days. Didn't think much of it until today. It started to hurt when I coughed, sneezed, or sat funny in my chair at work.

I had the chiro check it out. I forgot what exactly she said...something like my rib popped out of place. Don't remember the wording exactly. But she popped it back into place or so I thought:)

The pain has gone across my mid back and at times, I am short of breath. The pain is maybe 6 on a scale of 1-10. Very uncomfortable and sore but not so bad I think I need to go to the ER...not yet anyhow:)

I've been icing my back for the last couple hours. Its helping but not a ton. Can't seem to find my ketoprofen that the doctor gave me after the MVA. The only thing we have (other than Tylenol) are a couple of Vicodin and a couple of hydrocodone.

DD is still nursing between 7-9 times per day. Are either of these considered safe while nursing? If not, oh well. I'll have to wait it out to see the chiro again right away in the morning. Thanks!

Yes, they are safe. They are commonly prescribed to women to ease pain after childbirth and c-sections even. As long as you take the recommended dosages there is no issue :)

Vicodin and hydrocodone are the same drug. It's an L3 and commonly prescribed following C-sections.

I may be inclined to take an NSAID, like ibuprofen/advil for bone-related pain before I took a narcotic.

Hope you get some relief soon.

I was going to take some ketoprofen but I can't find the bottle. It's possible that I used the prescription up since the end of August but I'm certain it's around here somewhere.

Thanks for the info:)

Yes, it's safe. I was prescribed vicodin in the hospital for post c-section pain after both my girls were born and even given some before I was released.

I agree. I'm leery of taking L3 drugs, though, while nursing.

As enticing as a Vicodin/hydrocodone pill was last night...I just kept icing the spot on my back and went to sleep. No drugs, yay!

My next appt. is in an hour and a half. I hope to get more relief then:)
