Mouse (ds2's nickname) had blood in his urine at dr visit Thursday. He sent us to a Pediatric urologist today. He really scared me and also ordered a catheter urine test but told us to have them do it.
So we say the Urologist today and she was so nice and helpful. She did the exam talked to Mouse - and read him a story - and to us. Watched him pee. Asked him why he was no longer using the potty etc.
She ran a second test on his urine and decided that he did not need to have the catheter test. Apparently his first test also showed he was dehydrated - not sure how given how much they drink. So she wants us to have him use the potty every two hours and drink a lot more. We are to see her in two months just to be sure, but it looks great.
She mentioned only one thing that might be considered wrong. Apparently his hole is too low - within the 'normal spectrum' - but that might cause him aiming problems. If he stands he hits his pants. This was likely caused by his circumcision or diaper rubbing against the scar tissue from it. I so wish I had not had it done. She said they could fix it, but that it wasn't necessarily needed. Shocked at the idea of that i stammered out a no and she seemed pleased with that answer.
