I have a deep painful zit coming in on my cheek, what would you suggest I do to get rid of it?

Hot compress, I know it sounds crazy but put toothpaste on it before you go to bed.

Honey Hits the Spot

Whether you are an adult who is experiencing acne after many years of clear skin or a teenager dealing with regular breakouts, the following treatments can provide some pain relief and even help curb your breakouts. One very helpful hint for dealing with pimples is to apply a warm cotton ball soaked in salt water to your pimple for about three minutes. Afterwards, apply a bit of honey and wash it off after ten minutes.
Aspirin And Other Quick Acne Pain Remedies

Aspirin doesn’t have to be swallowed to ease pain. A remedy that often helps painful acne is to apply crushed aspirin to a pimple. The aspirin will reduce inflammation and redness. You could also try applying aloe vera gel to acne. Aloe vera gel works wonderfully because it has soothing qualities and can provide a protective barrier. You could also try applying ice to acne. Ice is always soothing and helps to alleviate any inflammation. No matter how much you think about popping a pimple, resist the urge to do so. Popping pimples can lead to scarring, further pain, possible infection, and can also exacerbate acne by redepositing oil on other areas of your face.

Don't mash it. (Easier said than done, I know.) I got cellulitis like that one time.

I don't mash them but my dh does. I told him I had a doozy coming in and that he wasn't allowed to touch it.

My freaking hormones are soo wacked right now. I can't wait to get all my parts fixed so that I can get a new IUD!

Toothpaste works great-dh uses that ingrown hairs to help bring things to the surface.

I read this in Cosmo as a teenager and I still do it.

Also while your hormones are doing the whacky dance, be sure to change your pillowcase more often too. Hope that clears up for you!

Since I now use an oil-free shampoo and conditioner, I very rarely get acne. When I add olive oil to my conditioner, sometimes I do, though.

I hate zits! I have one right between my eyes that hurts.

I have found that if I don't eat after dinner (zero snacks so that I have a good 16-hour fast) that my acne gets much better. It's really not that hard to do once you get used to it. I'm not currently doing it (been really bad with late night snacking!) but I have also read online sites claiming this works, so it's not just my hair-brained idea. It really does work. I think it has something to do with allowing your body time to detox or something or other, I don't know.

I hope it goes away fast for you!
