We got something like a FOOT of snow last night. I spent the night at work. Well, kind of. Our hospital has a hotel on campus. They put us up there. Phillip is in the daycare here, and I drive 45 minutes (on a good day, God KNOWS how long it would've taken last night!) so I just picked him up here at the daycare and stayed here. We actually didn't have any stuff with us. I snatched a toothbrush and comb from the unit stock, and there's a Sam's Club 4 blocks from work, I buzzed over there to get him some clothes for today. I borrowed a patient gown to sleep in!

I didn't realize that the hotel actually has an indoor pool! I happened to have shorts and a tshirt in the car, and so I took those in, and boy and I went swimming! I had the tshirt and shorts, and he had the sweatpants he wore yesterday.

Then I washed my scrubs (with hotel shampoo in the bathtub!) and hung them over the heater overnight to dry.

We improvised, but it worked ok.

Katie had school yesterday, and MIL got her off the bus, and kept her. School was, of course, canceled today, so she's gonna hang with Gramma again!

How is your weather, and how is it affecting you?

It's icy and freezing. Yesterday we had freezing rain all day. DH is staying home today.

We have the 'wintery mix' here. Presently it's icy rain, over night we got about 2-3 inches of snow. The big kids are home from school.

We have gotten hit pretty good. I was looking at our local news station and the weather channel said we got 3.5-4 inches. I know it is the weather channel and all, but they are often way off when predicting our weather where we are at. We have 14-15 inches of snow right now in the front yard. We started off with about 3 inches, so 11-12 inches have fallen. 4-5 inches fell since DH left for work this morning.

If anyone wonders what it is like driving in snow, here you go:

Sounds like you and the boy had a good time, Viva! Some of the unplanned moments we experience with our kids make the absolute best memories. I can hear you now ~ Phillip, back in '09 we had this huge snowstorm and .... LOL ....

We have about 5 inches of snow on top of about an inch of frozen sleet. It sleeted here for more than 24 hours, and sometime between midnight (when I went to bed) and 6:00 (when I woke up and went to the bathroom), we got snow! No school here yesterday, or today and I doubt if there is tomorrow, since it's a whopping 19 degrees out.

DH will be taking his 4-wheel drive vehicle out and playing in the snow later. Me? I'm reading a book and enjoying the sunshine and snow instead of the dreariness of falling sleet.

Stay safe, y'all!

Yup, it's snowed over here right now. Poor DH had to get up super early to dig the car out of the driveway.

Viva, glad you made due with what you had. I agree, sometimes those are the best memories.

Hi Viva! Glad you made the most of what might have been a yucky situation.

I posted some pics in still_me's thread (http://www.breastfeeding.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38123). It's yucky here. Schools and my work is closed and I have power. I'm feeling blessed.

About 3 inches of snow, now it is sleeting. School was cancelled, and they are off tomorrow for an inservice day, too.

It snowed a tiny bit yesterday but turned to rain. It has been absolutely freezing here. Way colder then I am used to.

It has been pouring rain all day. It's not really affecting me one way or the other, but when all this freezes tonight, it won't be good.

We got about 8 inches of snow here. School is closed again today, so we're hanging out at home. I think we might go out and try to make a snowman, we'll see how long we make it outside lol.

We had a lot of ice yesterday. Then it rained this morning and melted all the ice, but then it started snowing agian. We don't have a huge amount of snow, no more than a inch or so. But alot of people here are without power. My Mom has a houseful of family staying with her, since they are without power, and we are headed up there for some baord games and such after the kiddo wake up from nap.

We thought we were going to lose power yesterday, but we never did. Thankfully. The roads are a mess. Trees down, limbs everywhere, power lines down, etc. There is also a lot of flodding of basements and crawl spaces.

We, personally, are good though.

I'm just wondering how well Gramma is dealing with Katie. If I know her, she's beside herself begging to go sledding. Gramma doesn't DO sledding. It could get ugly! LOL

Sorry about the sucky weather.

Florida weirdness.
It is really beautiful today, and has been the past couple of days :) .
-I would tell ya'll to come down, but it is hard to say how long it will stay.

It was so foggy the other day I couldn't see my hand in front of my face, before that it was freakishly nasty ,wet cold. I guess I should be glad we got the fog buffer day in between the hot & cold, I hate when the temp changes drastically, it makes me feel soo gross.

It has been very cloudy and foggy here recently (and cold), but no rain which is really weird for the Seattle area. I think its making me depressed :(

42 and sunny here. It will get a little bit warmer by afternoon and not surprised at the sun. We average over 300 sunny days a year. :)

Its 61 and sunny but that is your typical South Texas weather. I don't think we have had any freezes yet. We usually wear shorts during Christmas and heavy coats during Easter so there may be freeze still yet to come.
