Anyone here have one? How do you like it? What brand of litter do you use in it?

I just got one tonight and I want to hear how other people like it before I set it up. I am thinking of taking it back. Buyers remorse, for some reason. But Ill keep it if its really worth it.

Well, we had two at one point or another. We had to change the box twice a day because we have four cats. I believe we used the tidy cats scoopable, lemme know if that sounds weird or non-existant, it's been a while since I bought brand name cat litter. Ours kept breaking because our cats go a lot at one time and it was too heavy for the fork.

The box can't fill up too much or the lid wont snap on, and the sides of the boxes cut open garbage bags.

I guess it was neither good nor bad, it just wasn't right for our situation.

I had one. I wasn't impressed, but like SF I had lots of cats using it.
Ours broke after a week.

I only had one cat using it and I didn't like it. Seemed to be easier to just scoop litter than change the container.

I have been using them for eight years and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them! I used to have 12 cats. They recommend that you not use them for over a group of four. I did have trouble when I had alot of cats, it had trouble keeping up with them. We use Fresh step scoopable litter ONLY.

My diabetic cat peed alot and kept jamming the rake with these huge clumps, I got so sick of fooling with it, I just threw it in a bag somewhere and resorted to an underbed shoe box.

After he passed away though, I only had three cats and I brought it back out. It works flawlessly now.

Which model do you have? I have the one with a removable rake and it is so much easier to maintain. I really rave about them.

All the years with me owning so many cats, my house never smelled of cat pee. People always commented that they couldn't smell the boxes. At one time I owned three littermaids. It has always been my favorite feature, no stink!

I remember before that my cat would take a crap and I would have to get up and get it as it would stink up the whole room! Not any more.

Our newest one was kind of pricey but it was worth every penny:)

They have great customer service too, I had one once that stopped working after six months and they sent me a brand new one. Keep your receipt on hand, in the event that it breaks while under warranty.

i think they are a POS. I had to modify mine cus the sensors werent acting right and it would go back n forth back n forth. then after I took out a spring it worked fine that way. But it didnt scoop the very bottom.

NN, we have the one with the removable rake. I have 4 cats so I have their regular litter box still set up beside the Litter Maid for now, but if the Litter Maid works well, I am going to get another one. The cats took right to it last night, after they checked it out for a while first. It seems to be working well so far.

How often do you empty the receptical box and change the litter in yours?

I have one of those. We have 3 cats and one littermaid and one regular. One of the cats prefers the low tech box for some reason.

But I like it. DH empties the litter collector thing every other day. Oh, and don't bother buying the replacement bags and boxes too often, you can use an empty walmart bag to line the collection box, and just reuse the plastic box several times.

OOooh, I never thought of lining the receptacle box with a bag. My poor cat has to climb over the crap spilling out of the box before I spend five minutes fixing the pan. I never change the litter, that is not necessary, I just add new litter.

I probably empty the box weekly, I have two cats and it is the only box in the house. I would love to have the one that uses water but we don't want it in the bathroom and don't have easy access to a water line anywhere else in the house.

They have modified the design and made alot of changes, my old one did that all the time. My new one NEVER cycles more than once AND the rake never clogs.

Had one when we had 2 cats. Loved it beyond measure. MIL has 2 now, she has 4 cats, and also loves hers.

Wait, I think we gave her ours when my little girl passed away a few years ago, so they have 3.

I am really liking this thing. I would like to get another one eventually.

I like mine. But DH handles it entirely. In fact, DH bought it when I was pregnant (because I wasn't supposed to handle the kitty poop.) So he immediately bought the automatic box.

We line ours with a plastic bag, too. But we only have one cat, and we only need to change it, I dunno, every five or six days?

If I could only get the dog to use one of these, that would be great...
