I am going to say it now. Don't look at this if you can't stomach seeing a picture of someone after abuse.

That is so wrong of whoever leaked the photo if it was in fact, from the police department.

I couldn't look at it.
My mom and grandma were abused by my grandfather. Ive seen what a person looks like when their bloodied and bruised by someone who supposedly loves them.
If one good thing comes of this mess, I hope it is to give other women the confidence to leave abusive relationships and find help.

There is an investigation now to see who did it.
Bocar, it isn't pretty. Seeing what she looked like and seeing that... Honestly, to me, she is unrecognizable and I can see how attempted murder could be a possible option in court.
ETA: I pray that Tina Turner steps in and talks to this girl. Tina Turner put up with a lot of things she shouldn't have, but as someone that Rihanna probably already looks up to, it would be good to hear that she can and should move on from this asshole.

If I were Rihanna, I would be livid. I hope the miscreant who leaked this is fired! How dare TMZ post this. It should be illegal!

So of a bitch. That asshole better be in jail.

Hamm, he isn't in jail (out on a $50,000 bond) and charges haven't been brought up against him either.

Is she cooperating with the investigation against the guy who beat her up? I'd heard she had stopped helping police in the matter.

IDK. From what I read, she was cooperating with the police in the beginning. I do wonder if she'll take him back.
TBH, this whole thing is sickening to me. It is sickening that it happened (as is every abuse case). It is sickening that other celebs won't take a strong stance. I've read things with people saying, 'Oh, I feel so bad for both of them' WTF? BOTH of them? That boy beat the ever living crap out of her and people feel sorry for HIM? No.
That is what pisses/annoys me about Hollywood/society. Complete and utter dysfunction is accepted because the person is "talented". Now, you have kids who look up to this asshole, and they see he is getting away with it?

I haven't even heard other celebrities talking about it. I really figured this would be a MUCH bigger deal than it is. Unless it is and I'm just good at spacing it out. If they feel badly for him, though, well..wow. How fucked up and misplaced.
Whoever sold that picture is pretty sick, too.

Good for Gayle King. Good for her for speaking out to say this is wrong.
Gayle King said she wasn't moved by Chris Brown apology, in which he said Sunday he is "saddened ... over what transpired" with girlfriend Rihanna.
"I can't think of anything that makes me support anything that Chris Brown is saying at this time," King tells Extra. "And my heart just aches for Rihanna."
Usmagazine.com spoke to other stars over the weekend about Brown, 19, who said in his statement that he is "seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones" after allegedly attacking his girlfriend in Los Angeles Feb. 8.
He is saddened over what *transpired*? Not sorry for what he did, or what he caused. As if it were beyond his control, like he is apologizing to victims of bad storm or a car accident. No indication of any responsiblity on his part, that he did anything wrong, just that he feels vaguely bad for something that just "happened"

And some of these othe comments I find disturbing.
NIA LONG
"I know both of them well. They're young, and all we can do is pray for them at this point."
RUBEN STUDDARD
"I'm still praying for him. Everybody always has something negative to say about everything, and I always try to be positive. They've both made wonderful careers for themselves, and I think they will continue to do so for the rest of their lives."
MARY J. BLIGE
"They're both young and beautiful people, and that's it."
MARK CURRY
"Women, throughout history, have been beaten and prostituted. Even today in movies and music, they're portrayed as low-grade, so you know, he's a youngster, and he can correct his ways. It's just a tragedy - women and abuse.".
Great, they are young and beautiful. Way to completely ignore the point. Look away, pretend it isn't there, talk about their fame or beauty or talent, as if that somehow overrides huge character flaws and say that we can't do anything but pray.
Bullshit. Call it out, say it's wrong and say it's not tolerated to beat up your girlfriend , even if you make a lot of money or have a cool "talent". Go ahead, call him an asshole, because he is one. Don't be afraid to hurt the feelings of a guy who would do this to his girlfriend.

But Quilty, don't you get it? Apparently it's only really abuse if you're old and ugly.
What an asshole. I hope he goes to jail.

I don't understand the need to pity abusers. My family shocked me by feeling so sorry for mine. Poor guy. Don't you know he is troubled. People don't seem to understand what that does to the abused.

Or if you are a "nobody".
I am disgusted by the idea that famous people with publicists don't commit crimes, they have incidents, altercations, or unfortunate circumstances. All, neutral not-responsible words.
I resent being told by anybody that I should feel bad for the "situation" that Chris Brown is in. Or saying he's young - as if beating up a woman is just a normal phase like thumb sucking or potty training.
Seriously, what the fuck? Beating women is not a stage to be grown out of or something that young people do.
I feel bad for the woman he beat up. I would bet this is not the first time he's gotten physically abusive with her, but more likely the first time it was made public knowledge.
I truly hope she will get the hell away from him.

From leaked police reports, it isn't the first time.
My sister was telling me that a Soprano's star took him to task also. I can't find that though.
A boxer wants to fight Chris Brown. He started a Facebook group that invites people to join who wants to kick his butt. I love it. I know violence against violence isn't the answer, but...I'd accept it here.

She issued a statement and from the sound of it, she is still working with the authorities.
