stress or nervous reaction? I often laugh at innapropriate times, I can't help it. It just doesn't seem like a funny ha-ha kind of laugh to me.

It didn't seem like a nervous laugh to me. He was way too laid back.

His nervous laughing does not bother me as much as his statement "I believe everything my sister tells me." I really don't understand this family's willingness to defend Casey to the end, while their granddaughter/niece lies dead in the woods.

The family is in denial. I thought the laugh was strange too Cat and you're right it didn't seem like a nervous laugh. It was like he was recounting a pleasant encounter that had no effect on him at all. Casey obviously has some mental issues, perhaps he does as well.

Wow. That does seem off. I can definitely see nervous laughter, but he does seem laid back.

Nervous laughter my ass. I can see laughing nervously at certain times but not when speaking of the murder of your baby niece. There are certain things in life that will sober up any nervous laughter.

To me, it sounds and looks like the laugh of someone who knows he's lying. However, he could also have something like Tourette Syndrome.

I think the uncle is the only sane one in that family. He knew something was wrong and point blank told his sister (the grandmother) that he believed Casey killed the baby. He did not believe any of her lies.
