DD2 has barfed three times in the last hour.I do believe she's caught dd1's stomach virus from last week, although dd1 had problems on the other end.
Is there anything that can be done to slow it down or stop it? She's 3 and this is her first throw up since a baby. Poor thing is all freaked out :( For now she is just taking sips of water to stay hydrated.

My dr says that the coke syrup is good for that. You can buy it or make it by boiling a cup of suger with a can of coke. I have not tried it...but my kids tend to only throw up once.

Poor baby!
I don't know of anything that really works except zofran.

Oh, and I tend to believe that it is better to let them go ahead and throw it all up to get it out of their systems.

Well, I worry when it becomes excessive enough to become dehydrated . I'd like to at least get it slowed down. Hmm. No coke, but there is some sprite left over from DD1's case of yuck several days ago. I'd imagine it would be flat at this point, though.

Flat sprite would probably work well. No bubbles to irritate her tummy.

a little coke.
I always thought this was interesting:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emetrol
Emetrol is the brand name of an over-the-counter antiemetic medicine taken to relieve nausea and vomiting. It is a mixture of glucose, fructose, and phosphoric acid, and comes in syrup form.
same stuff that is in colas.

I have Emerol! I'll have to check the ages, though. I know DD1 has taken it, but not sure if a 3 year old can. I had forgotten all about it.
And the flat Sprite..I will try that first. Poor thing is still going :(

I can totally feel for you right now :(
We have it here at our house too and DS3 was throwing p from 3am till about noon and then fell asleep and has been out since. It's now 4pm here and he's still out and he NEVER takes naps unless he's not feeling well.
DD (12 months) has only thrown up a couple of times but has the diarrhea still.
Now I have it and DH isn't feeling quite right.

If she's got a virus she will probably just throw up until it's out of her system. I know it sucks. Soda can help settle their stomach and you definatly want to keep her hydrated with fluids.

I did give her some Emetrol and she hasn't thrown up in an hour, so we'll see. I'm guessing it's a virus since dd1 had her stomach thing last week. Dd1 had a pretty signifigant fever and dd2 doesn't have much of one. She looks kind of sickly but is wanting to play more now.

I hope that did the trick for her.

Me,too. I have to go food shopping when DH gets home anyway so I think I will pick up some ginger ale and sprite (or coke) to keep on hand anyway. DS might get it and my stomach feels kind of yucky. Of course, that could be from cleaning up barf all day.
