Hi Shari!!! My son is 6 months old and because he has reflux he eats small very frequent meals. Sometimes he eats once every hour. I try to pump once in while but the most I get is close to 2 oz. Even when I take him to the breastfeeding clinic (I normally take him once a week) he only gets 2 oz and has only gained 2 oz with in a week which isn't enough. The LCs there told me he should be gaining 3-5 oz per week. He seems to be getting better and wanting to nurse more but I am worried about my supply. Is it too late for me pump to get a good supply going again? I am ok as long as I still have milk? My mom told me to eat a lot of soup and drink a lot of water. What else can I do to rebuild my supply? Also I haven't taken my vitamins in a while do you think it would help to get started again? Sorry for all of the questions. Thank You

The fact that your baby is eating so frequently, requires him to eat less per feeding. Two ounces in 1 hour is the same as 4 ounces in 2 hours. He may be just going through a growth spurt and 2 ounces for this week may result in an 8 ounce gain next week. You can't look at it every week, it has to be looked at on average.
How much does your baby weigh now at 6 months old? Is he at the right weight for his age? Some breastfed babies will grow slower, but he is still growing.
If you are really concerned with your milk supply you can try a supplement called More Milk Plus by Motherlove. I carry it in my store if you want it.( www.birthboutique.com)
Also, at 6 months your baby should be ready to start solids. Have you started him? That may be the next step.
