I have a dream that I am in a house made out of a cave. My husband, sisters, mom and dad are there. My grandfather who has passed on quite some time ago showed up last night. We live/visit this cave and there is a secret place that holds two beds. You have to squeeze through a small shaft and then you come into this large "bedroom" It has two beds placed far away from each other. I can vividly remember the dark red bedspread on the left bed and the pale yellow one on the right. There is a shelf of rock that runs the length of the room that acts as a headboard/storage area. Last night my grandfather and I were trying to help my husband fix a hanging light. We kept trying to tell him not to touch the metal and to only touch the black around it.
Then, it switched to my husband walking on my left, and my mom on my right. We were walking down the road that I grew up on in the rain. As we walked to the end, my husband turned his flashlight on and at the end of the road was a black panther surrounded by toads. The toads hopped away and then the panther came towards us. We started to slowly walk backwards, but it kept coming towards us, and then only towards me.

Hmm.

To dream that you are walking in a dark cave, signifies refuge or the unconscious mind. It also denotes that you experience some unexpected misfortune or disagreement.
To see toads in your dream, suggests that you are trying to hide your true Self. Let the beauty from within shine through.
To notice or buy bedspread in your dream, represents your open sexuality and outward beauty. The design and look of the bedspread may be a clue as to what you are looking for sexually.
To see a panther in your dream, signifies lurking danger and enemies working to do you harm. It represents darkness, death, and rebirth. On a more positive note, panthers signify power, beauty and/or grace.
To dream that you get wet from the rain, signifies that you will soon be cleansed from your troubles and problems. Rain also symbolizes fertility and renewal.
So you are troubled, and seeking refuge and need and miss the comfort of your family..maybe you conflicted about about spicing up your sex life ( red) or a little chicken to try something new ( yellow) and you can't decide which way to go..
When you go to the rain scene, Maybe some ongoing family problem is starting to be resolved, and you are starting to feel like you can be your true self..(toads).
Is the panther threatening to you or does it seem friendly?

Well, I looked up the color red and this is what came up:
Red
Red is an indication of raw energy, force, vigor, intense passion, aggression, power, courage and passion. The color red has deep emotional and spiritual connotations. Consider the phrase "seeing red" to denote anger.
Red is also the color of danger, shame, sexual impulses and urges.Perhaps you need to stop and think about your actions.
Yellow:
Yellow
The color yellow has both positive and negative connotations. If the dream is a pleasant one, then the color yellow is symbolic of intellect, energy, agility, happiness, harmony, and wisdom. On the other hand, if the dream is an unpleasant one, then the color represents cowardice and sickness. You may have a fear or an inability to make a decision or take action. As a result, you are experiencing many setbacks.
:( I don't like this dream.
Now onto your questions, Quilty.
So you are troubled, and seeking refuge and need and miss the comfort of your family..maybe you conflicted about about spicing up your sex life ( red) or a little chicken to try something new ( yellow) and you can't decide which way to go..
I do miss my mom and my sister. Also, I often wish I got to know my grandfather more before he died...maybe that is what plays into that.
As for our sex life, I don't want it to change, nor does he. 99% of the time we are on the same page there. I was pretty hormonal and I was touched out, so maybe that is where the colored bedspreads come into play. I was feeling bad that I wasn't on the same thought waves as DH for the first time in our relationship. The bed spreads were smooth and silky looking. The cave itself is very strange. At times it is inviting and comforting and then at times certain areas of the cave seem scary.
When you go to the rain scene, Maybe some ongoing family problem is starting to be resolved, and you are starting to feel like you can be your true self..(toads). Interesting piont about starting to feel like I can be myself. I finally am not afraid of opening up and letting who I am be seen. It wasn't until the last year or so that I realized how guarded I was.
Is the panther threatening to you or does it seem friendly? Very threatening. He races towards us and then only me.
The spiritual aspects mentioned are interesting because I am looking more at my spiritual path lately and seeing where my strengths and weaknesses are. I am a little taken back at the amount of weaknesses that have sprung up, but I am thankful that my strengths are solid.
Thanks for helping Quilty! This has been bothering me. Feel free to probe my brain more if you'd like.

Sure. I find dreams fascinating. I think dreams are just a way of your brain working out things we don't want to actively think about. Thoughts are just ratting around in there and the brain wants to file them someplace..
I thought the dream meaning site was interesting, but I think different symbols can mean very different things to people..Like for me a dog would be something comforting and friendly- an ally; for someone else a dog would be a menacing symbol.
As for the panther, maybe that is some obstacle or fear that you have that only you can deal with..Something only you can conquer..No one else can do it for you and that bothers you a bit, feeling like you are handling it alone..
maybe your brain is giving you a kick in the rear to go ahead and do something you feel like you should do, but you haven't quite gotten the nerve yet.
The hanging light and your grandfather trying to fix it ..maybe that is just your mind playing out a scenario that you wish could have happened..Your grandfather helping your husband with some household chore, Being here still..

Oh, my wise Quilty...
As for the panther, maybe that is some obstacle or fear that you have that only you can deal with..Something only you can conquer..No one else can do it for you and that bothers you a bit, feeling like you are handling it alone.. This can apply greatly to something going on in my life.
The hanging light and your grandfather trying to fix it ..maybe that is just your mind playing out a scenario that you wish could have happened..Your grandfather helping your husband with some household chore, Being here still..
And this hurts to read, but is true. My DH would have loved talking to my grandfather.
