This is simply the case of a mom who decided to wean early from breastfeeding, was rejected by her fellow educated moms and decided to then look into the studies to try to prove her anti-breastfeeding position. What she found (and reports) is that the studies DO support that breastfeeding is best, although she decides to dismiss them anyways (clearly since she had made up her mind before she started).

The fact of the matter is that breastfeeding is the biological norm for our babies. I can't wait for the day when it is seen as such and not treated like a "greater than." It's that formula has the potential for negative side effects, not that breastfeeding may be beneficial.
Women like the original author need to own their feelings. I may not agree with choosing not to pump because you don't feel like it, but at least that's being honest. Don't try to knock down others because of your own choices.

I found the artical miss leading. I read the orginal article and would just get madder and madder. To me it just seamed like a mother mad at the world and if she didnt want to try to give her child the best she shouldnt of had her children. Breastfeeding is more then just health benifits we are breeding the attachment out of children making them angrier and angrier; bottles and feedings every 2 to 3 hours with letting them cry it out, weekends at dads, weekdays at moms, parents jumping from one partner to another. I have worked with children that have attachment issues and it isnt pretty. I just think breastfeeding is a way for people to get that nurturing side back. I think if children are held and loved even though they cry and say "I hate you" it will stop some of the sleeping around and the need to have a cute little baby just to keep the man in your life. I am not saying everyone is like that or that parents that dont say together are bad just that people arnt thinking ahead. Who knows I may be raising some crazy booby boy that will say anything to a young girl to get to touch her boobys but I dont think so.
