Out of cribs that is.
When did your LO's move out of their cribs? Were they in toddler beds, matresses on the floor or just cribs without the front railing?
My boys are definately too young to be out of cribs. They are 19 months, DS at that time was already in a toddler bed but they dont seem to have the maturity.
Also I am not looking forward to having them out of their cribs, as it is harder to control them (i.e they will have free rein of their room, house)
How long can they safely be in their cribs?

I moved mine as soon as they were climbing over and not wanting to sleep there. Way before age 2. Actually, they were pretty much sleeping with us anyway, but they did sleep in the crib sometimes. No, I don't have twins, but I have 3 small children.
Personally, I'd adjust the railing as much as I could. If that works, great. If not, I'd baby proof the room and get a mattress or two for them. I had one that would get up and wander so we kept the monitor in his room and put a child proof cover over his door knob. If I had to do it over, I'd get one of those gates they can't get over and put it at the end of the hall.

In my opinion, cribs are fine until they can get their waist up to the top of the crib (or climbing out). Our twins left their cribs at 20 months (she went into a toddler bed) and 3 years (he has medical problems, so I'd imagine he could have stayed in it longer.

They were climbing over before age 2?!? Wow i'd freak. My boys have no interest in trying to climb over (knock on wood).
They are also kind of small (IMO). The matress is furthest down, the railing all the way up and it is still just a bit above arm pit level.
I am panicking at the thought of having to take them out of their cribs...lol
I can imagine the mountain full of toys all over the room and the poor babes falling asleep anywhere but their beds.
In any case I think i'd opt for a matress on the floor even though I have two toddler beds. I dont think they are coordinated enough to sleep in toddler beds.

I have a new style crib tent and I realy like it. my ds is not coordinated enough to climb out safely only fall, will not sleep in bed with us and will not sleep on a mattress on the floor.
