sharon,
will this increase supply still if baby is 5 months old? I have hypothyoid and baby is not gaining. he fell off the growth chart. I have used it when #1 was born and it did help a little.

Dear Pampered Chef:
Domperidone can increase milk supply at this late date - but it is most effective in the early weeks. I have seen clients boost their milk supply using this medication at all different ages though. It increases Prolactin production.
I assume you are being treated for this thyroid condition as many women
with low thyroid take synthroid and nurse their babies just fine. :)

Sounds like you have experience in this area already. Some women get more milk with each baby - but it depends on the beginning and how well the milk supply is brought in during the first month. At this point you still may encourage more volume with adding galactagogues. A couple of other things you may already be doing: sleeping with baby and night nursing, breast massage during nursings, increasing your healthy nutrients.
Good luck,
