What a relief!!
Homeschoolers here grades 3-9 are required to take the state standardized test that public school students take.
I was a bit nervous about it myself, Jake didn't seem to be concerned with much past "will there be snacks?" and worried that he might have to eat cafeteria food. Not that he knows what that is, lol.
But in all my thoughts about the testing, I haven't really thought out what to do with the results. File them in a cabinet and not look? Should I tell Jake how he scored?
I need some input on this, so I can sort it out. DH suggested making a paper airplane of it and sailing it into the trash. There is a part of me that wants to look and know how he scored; although I feel pretty confident that I do know what his strong and weaker points are.
FWIW, I always knew my test scores, and my parents never made much of a fuss over it. I also don't think that tests such as these do not accurately reflect much more than how good someone is at taking tests.
Do you let your kids know their tests scores? Please explain why or why not.
