I just planted my peas, onions, shallots, carrots, broccoli, lettuce, fennel, flowers and radishes planted.

I also trimmed my artichokes (they don't look so good, I hope they live), Sage, oregano, chamomile, daises, creeping phlox, and rosemary.

Next week I should be getting a grape vine, two peach trees and a pear tree to plant.

I love spring!

What is everyone else doing in their yard? (of course pictures are always welcome)

I wish I had a garden. All I have is a Mint Plant that we are giving to my MIL.

What zone are you in? I'm in zone 7, and I haven't put anything into the ground yet because we're trying to dog-proof our beds. I'm getting worried that it's going to be too late to get my peas, onions, fennel, spinach and broccoli in.

This is the first time I've done a veggie garden in zone 7, so I'm a little uncertain about dates.

I currently don't have a garden, but if I did, it would have carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, peas and cabbages. Pretty plain and boring, but they are all stuff that I KNOW the kids will eat, and most of it won't die from the heat. I've got to get my lettuce in the early spring, or it gets cooked by the sun. :) Unfortunately it is already too late into the season here to plant, not to mention I am broke.

If I had tons of money to spend on a garden, I would get this:
http://www.aerogardenstore.com/promotion/index.php?promoName=catalog&pageName=product_aerogardens&viewProduct=2420-00D

I'd get a couple for the kitchen and dining room, the bedroom, the bathrooms, where ever I could stick them. They have a trellis that holds three, and I would put them all over to hold the veggies, flowers and herbs. I'd take them over fine art any day. :)

I have room for a garden now. I just need to learn how.. ;) Maybe I'll take some pictures of the space and get some feedback here.

I put in a little lettuce, broccoli and cabbage, some tomatoes and a pepper, a cucumber and a strawberry. Some basil and parsley.

I have rosemary and mint planted as landscaping. I added a Key Lime tree this year, and a couple more clementine trees. I finally gave up on my potted Meyer lemon and planted the poor thing in the ground.

I know all these things are not really supposed to be going at the same time, but I'm in a forgiving climate. Probably it will work out. It looks good so far, anyway.

I have put nothing in but my onions so far. The ground is so wet it is crazy. Our first garden! Yay!

We will be planting Carrots, corn, green beans, lettuce, possibly taters, watermellon, cabbage, pepper, cucumber, and squash, a few tomatoes caged up.

I am also planting a blackberry, and blueberry bush, along with our first apple tree.

In pots and planters rosemary, (tons of it) thyme, oregano, chives, mint, parsley, lemon something-a-nother(balm maybe).

I haven't planted anything yet.
I still have my herb garden covered up with pine needles from winter, but the oregeno is already coming up. I have Rosemary and thyme in there.

I want to plant tomatoes, onions and peppers.

It depends who you ask I am some where between zone 5 or 6.

If you miss out this spring you can always plant in fall.

I am a slacker and haven't got in anything in yet this year. I haven't even tilled yet, normally I would get my potatoes in by Good Friday. We keep having snow, My chard and onions from last year are coming back up.
HOwever I have all kinds of stuff coming up in the greenhouse.

I'm in southwestern Ontario. We had a snowstorm yesterday! I haven't planted anything outside yet except a few containers of winter sown broccoli that I have sitting on my picnic table.

Inside, under grow-lights I have 56 tomato seedlings, some onions and some basil.

I hear you there, we still have 2 feet of snow in the backyard...not to mention the 4 foot drift blocking us from the backyard.

Our city has just been put on a flood alert, so who knows when or if I will be able to plant this year.

I've got to build my garden. I've got a bunch of seedlings trying to grow. I never have good luck with growing from seeds though.

My cucumbers are growing too well I think - too long and it'll be another couple weeks before my ouside garden is done.

I've got broccoli, watermelon, kohlrabi, onion and tomatos growing as well.

I've got flowers - Pansys, Impatiens and geraniums grown in the Jiffy greenbox. These seem to be doing best.

My Marigolds don't seem to be doing well. They're in the white multi containers.

This was last year's garden, seemed to have the approval of some special visitors.

I'm making 4 4'x8' or 10' beds rather than the 8X8' garden I had. I couldn't reach the stuff in the middle well. I was supposed to be doing that today instead of watching all the tvod House episodes.

I'll be planting basil, carrots and lettuce later.

I am a gardening wanna-be. I can't keep house plants alive, even the kind you just have to water once a week. But I envy all of you :)

Just started my tomato seeds and green pepper seeds.

JD you might benefit from getting a shop light to hang over your plants. Pansys, Impatiens and Geraniums can handle low light and won't get leggy.

MsKitty, I own two house plants that are lucky to be alive. Both are highly tolerant of being neglected for weeks on end.

Thanks EA. I was wondering why those cucumbers were long. I was thinking of getting a lamp that has a reading light and putting one of those special light bulbs in them.

I'm wondering if they're already ruined.

EvilAmy

If you get a lamp on them quick they might be alright. If it was a tomato you could just buy it and it would be okay. You might want to start a couple more seeds just to make sure.

A regular shop light (florescent bulb) will work? I'm not sure I can rig that up where I have the plants. Oh, wait, maybe. I bought three bulb "gro" lights and 3 desk lamps - one a clip on, one sort of a spot light and another a desk lamp with organizer tray (I'd been looking at that awhile.) I don't think they'll be enough to have light on all the plants all day.

So much for saving money by doing my own plants from seed. :) Perhaps in a few years ...

We really don't have good light in the house.

we moved from zone 9 in a city to zone 5 in the woods. To say it was an adjustment in our gardening is an understatement ;-)
We have learned that deer will eat anything in winter except boxwood and sage......
the rest is just an expensive "salad bar" for the deer

Have any male you know pee on your property line (or dump collected pee), it'll help a little to keep the deer away. My dad's wife hangs shaved Irish Spring soap around her garden also. The smell of man tends to keep them back more. Just be thankful that your "salad bar" isn't frequented by groundhogs. Those little buggers haunt me in the summer.

I'm not sure if I'll be gardening this year. Moles have taken over!! I haven't seen a new mound in 2 days, so I'm hoping they decided to visit someone else.

I do want to plant: corn, tomatoes, jalepenos, cilantro, and try potatoes. I want a few strawberry plants too. My dad and I were talking about starting a fruit tree, I'm thinking peach. He used to keep a small garden with: corn, tomatoes, string beans, cabbage, onions, strawberry beds, and a peach tree. Our backyard was full when I was a kid.

I just wish these moles would take a hike.

One thing I read about keeping moles away is to put up a pin wheel or dozen. They don't like the vibration it makes in the ground when the wind blows the pinwheel.

I was checking out my rose bush yesteday, and it has almost 40 buds on it! I don't do anything with it, I planted it in the ground, and forgot about it. It doesn't get watered or pruned, and I only deadhead it when I can remember.

Thanks Justicedog, I'll have to try that. Kids should get a kick out of it. At this point I'm willing to try anything. They have destroyed a corner of my front yard, well a corner and a mound line down the middle which connects with the tunnels in the backyard. Up rooted the flower beds on that side of the house. So, yeah. It's time for them to move on, lol. I want my yard back!!
