I have a 15 month old son who has been exclusively breastfed. I have never had a problem with milk supply in the past. This weekend, he did not nurse as much. I think because of Easter and just tooooo much going on. Well, I caught a bug and did not feel well for 2 days either. Today, I went to work and pumped at the time that I normally pump and only expressed 2 oz!!! That is not good compared to the 8 oz that I normally get. What to do!!! The only thing that I have done different is I did not have oatmeal today. I usually eat oatmeal every day. My tummy is still in knots and all I could have this morning was dry toast. He is still taking 8-10 oz of milk daily at the sitters and then I am nursing him at home at least 2 times at night! What am I going to do??? I am worried that this is the end of my nursing days and I will have a very unhappy 15 month old at home!!

I'm sorry you've been sick. Make sure you're drinking enough fluids, and work on getting more calories in, and your milk supply should rebound again in a few days. In the meantime, just try to nurse as often as you can. That will be the best way to bring your supply back to what it was.

As far as milk for the sitter - at this age your baby can take other fluids, such as water, cow's milk, or soy milk. Perhaps you can supplement with other fluids until you're able to pump more.
