I have a 15 month old son who has been exclusively breastfed. I have never had a problem with milk supply in the past. This weekend, he did not nurse as much. I think because of Easter and just tooooo much going on. Well, I caught a bug and did not feel well for 2 days either. Today, I went to work and pumped at the time that I normally pump and only expressed 2 oz!!! That is not good compared to the 8 oz that I normally get. What to do!!! The only thing that I have done different is I did not have oatmeal today. I usually eat oatmeal every day. My tummy is still in knots and all I could have this morning was dry toast. He is still taking 8-10 oz of milk daily at the sitters and then I am nursing him at home at least 2 times at night! What am I going to do??? I am worried that this is the end of my nursing days and I will have a very unhappy 15 month old at home!!

I wouldn't worry just yet. Probably your supply is a bit low because baby didn't nurse much and you've been a little sick. Your supply will bounce back as baby nurses more. Keep your fluids up. Get your rest. Let baby nurse as much as he wants, and I'm sure your supply will recover in a day or two. Oatmeal helps, so eat it when you think you can handle it again.

ITA with Jacksmommy I think you will see your supply bounce right back. Give your body sometime to get back on track.

ITA with PP. Also wanted to add that you will want to increase your fluid intake, especially if you were vomiting or had diarrhea during your illness. Being dehydrated can affect your supply.

You are still making milk so that is a good thing. When you are with him just try to have him nurse as much as possible and give your self until you feel better you would up your milk supply if you are sick
