Thunder

The opening festivities for Derby is Thunder Over Louisville (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thunder_Over_Louisville), the largest fireworks display in North America. I've been a handful of times, but haven't been in maybe 8 years. The past 2 years that we've been living back here, DS was too small and the weather was pretty icky so we haven't gone. Yesterday was gorgeous, though and my husband really wanted to go. It was a lot of fun, even though did DS hate it. We got right down in the thick of things. However, the traffic home really sucked, so it may be another 8 years before we go again! The news reports that 700,000 people turned out.

This is going to sound so corny, but fireworks always bring tears to my eyes. People are always so happy to see them and it is so firmly linked as something to do on a patriotic day (July 4th) that they make me tear up.

"Explody" "lol9" I love Rory. Hug her for me! Yes, this boy is getting so dern big. It's killin' me. He talks up a storm, too. Sigh. And the upload process really crapped the video up. The clean version is a LOT better.

And I am glad that you think it is sweet. You should have seen DH's (then my bf) face when he first went to fireworks together. He asked me if I was okay and I said that I was it was just so beautiful. Poor guy didn't know what to think I am sure. Did his new gf love to see things explode or did she just love fireworks so much that they made her cry? :gig:

I'm not sure Buddha actually said anything that time, but every time we tried to get him to watch, that's what he said.
