My DD is 13 months old. I have always had low supply for which I take fenugreek and domperidone.
She is down to nursing only a couple of times per day.
Pumping at work, my supply had dropped significantly over the past eight weeks or so. For the past two weeks I have only taken home 2-3 oz per day. She takes whole milk at daycare so this isn't really a problem.
Lately she only wants to nurse first thing in the morning and then in the middle of the night.
I offer frequently, and sometimes she will take just a few sucks, but then it is off to play.
I am planning for this to be my last week pumping at work since I am just not taking enough home for it to be worth it anymore.
Do you think my supply will hang on for morning and nighttime feedings only?

I would think your supply would continue as long as your dd is nursing, but I don't really know. Do you eat oatmeal?

I think it will be stick around just wouldnt have alot. when you are home with her and she is quiet I would have her nurse if you can get her to that will help more. My son will go 12 hr on day and nurse all day the next I think that really helps keep up the "flow".

Thanks ladies.
I do need to eat more oatmeal.
DD is still getting milk out as I can often hear her swallowing.... I just don't respond to the pump anymore, and I don't feel engorged even when it has been several hours since she last nursed.

Her midnight nursing is really good for your supply.
When my ds was 2 and really only nursing for comfort, I thought my supply was probably pretty low. I've never pumped really. He got sick and refused all food. He nursed for 3 days straight without losing weight. I think often times we have more milk than we realize.

Some women have trouble keeping their supply up when pumping. If you're dropping the pumping, then it's possible that your supply will be fine for the bf at the tap times. I did struggle with undersupply issues due to DD's nursing style from 4-12 months. At 12 months, I was relieved that I could take her lead and didn't have to work so hard to keep my supply up. She surprised me and started having a much better nursing style and my supply didn't have any issues at all.

I was also struggling with low supply with ds. He was down to 1 or 2 nursings most days. Now that I'm pregnant, though, I'm no longer pumping and he only nurses in the morning. I think you'll have some milk as long as you nurse, even if it's only 1 or 2 times a day. I also think you stop responding to the pump as your baby gets older and nurses less frequently. I'm taking his lead as I did with his older sister. He's very active also. I'd looked forward to nursing him for at least 2 yrs., but if he's ready to be done then I figure he's still gotten a lot more breast milk than most babies. You're doing an awesome thing for your little one even if she weans now.
