Hello!
I am currently breastfeeding and I started taking the 'mini-pill' last Sunday- which does not have Estrogen; I started menstruating yesterday~ is this normal due to taking birth control- even though it does not contain Estrogen?
Thanks!

I don't know if its normal to start due to taking birth control, but with both of my children I started menstruating right away even though I was breastfeeding. Some women are lucky enough to go through their whole nursing experience without getting their period, some aren't, and some just get it sporadically.

Oops Sorry I didn't notice that this was an ask an LC thread. I think they'll be online later today.

Some women start menstruating while breastfeeding esp after the baby is 6 months old, or you are separated from your baby or your baby sleeps through the night or your baby drinks/eats something other than your milk.
One warning about the mini pill. I have seen many milk supplies go down witht this pill. Have you noticed a drop in your supply?
